"Really lovely pub, super cosy and very welcoming. Independently run, the owner was charming and could not do enough. Food was delicious with a capital D! I had the Brioche Benedict, eggs perfectly poached, a very thick slice of ham and covered with most delicious rich, creamy hollandaise. My companion opted for the fish and chips which was so good. Nice chunky portion of fish with a light crispy batter. It came with a curry sauce which was heaven to dip your chips in. Really good quality ingredients and a good chefs make for happy lunching! Oh yes, super dog friendly. Very highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed. We’ll be returning soon."

We had a lovely welcome as we entered. Delicious sea bass and my friend had the excellent steak pie with mash, gravy and veg. With drinks and cappuccinos afterwards less than £40 for us both.

We popped in here on a Friday lunchtime and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The service was perfect the waitress took our order and then brought drinks over straight away. I ordered two starters instead of a main meal and this was no problem at...

The best Sunday roast we've had since I can't remember Pork was so flavourful with small super-crispy pieces of crackling. Beef purple rather than red in the middle. Wonderful roast carrots, potatoes and parsnips with slightly sharp red cabbage. Grast beer (Vale brewery Red Kite) and wines. We had a table by the fire with a view across the village green to the church. Service was friendly and efficient (in that order) Vegetarian options: Nut roast and harrisa aubergine roast.
