"Asquiths is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants for fine dining I have experienced. The menu is interesting, appetising and giving enough of a varied choice without being too brief nor too complicated. Every course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The portion size was perfect, I feel, with the protein taking pole position...nice. Although it 's fairly pricey, I would say it 's fair as everything, from pleasant efficient staff, to well served, amazing food warrants paying slightly above average and is well deserved. Something I found particularly intriguing is the decor/atmosphere; nothing wrong with it rather elegant in some ways, but some might think it austere. It got me thinking; is the decor intended to be a 'blank canvas ', so to speak, solely for the wonderful art displayed, or is it a demonstration of total confidence in the cooking in that it 's the food that speaks volumes, not the often unnecessary trappings decorating the surroundings....like it."

"came here for a lunch / dinner on the other day unfortunately. place was relatiw busy, I don't really see how, unless it's just full of natives. it was a Sunday so that they had roasted dinner on the menu. I asked for a lasagne instead of a...Roast because it was on the menu. but the waitress was persevering that she had to check with the kitchen that she could cook a lasagne as his Sunday. Why do they give me a menu if they only make roasts? the cook suddenly forget how to cook the menu when it is a sunday? hahaha. honest. wow. I had my bliss. to be fair, it was a beautiful lasagne. can't blame it. credit of the cook (he remembered clearly how to cook a lasagne in the last mint. thanks to life saving. the waitresses were very snotty. I don't know why, but they didn't want to answer any questions or talk to us at all. I didn't really want to smile either. oh and it was the love one of the waitresses used, a good hour behind me and gave us that eye so that we leave our table. yes, if we repel ourselves from a table, is super-love from you. defined does not come back. unless they want to watch fun and be treated badly by servers that have a stick on the back."

"We just had our second visit to The Crown while visiting family, and we can't find any faults with it. The room was clean and tidy, making it feel just like home. We even enjoyed complimentary clotted cream biscuits. The breakfast was delightful, with options for a cooked breakfast as well! We dined in the restaurant twice, and we loved the fish and chips, as well as the delicious Sunday roast. Don't miss the treacle pudding with clotted cream—it's a must-try! Although it’s a bit off the beaten path, it’s definitely worth it. The landlord is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Be sure to try the cold river cider; it's incredible. "Really good food! Went there with my daughter as we were staying at Best Western around the corner. The hot chocolate was delicious, thick and silky. The scrambled eggs were soft in a thick toast that was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The other dish was a banana and choc loaf with fruits and yogurt which was very good as well. We will definitely go back to the same place whenever we come back."

"We had the pleasure of staying for 1 night on a business trip. From the outside it would be easy to drive past without noticing the hotel/pub and the ample sized car park but once you've visited you'll want to go back. The bar and dining area are spotless with low level lighting from tasteful wall lights in addition to the candle lit tables and shelves, it really is a picture, if you add that to clean, quality standard of the furnishings it must be a great local. The staircase to the rooms has new carpet and looking in general I think it's all had a refurb recently, room 3 is a fair size with comfortable twin beds and the bathroom is adequate. There's plenty of drawer space and a small flat screen TV but no wardrobe only 3 coat hangers secured to the wall, an opening window (onto the road) allows for ventilation. Staff and food here are all extremely good. Well worth a visit."
