We ordered the soup of the day and the chicken liver parfait as appetizers. For our main course, we had the roasted fillet of hake with mushroom puree. We also enjoyed the pineapple tart for dessert. The food was absolutely delicious, featuring unique dishes that were beautifully presented. The service was excellent, and our meals arrived promptly. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this restaurant.

It would have been a five-star experience if there had been more than one vegan choice. Unfortunately, we both ended up ordering the same dish. This restaurant is expertly run by a skilled chef who understands the importance of quality ingredients and knows how to create complex, layered flavors. I tried the Bream, which was served with dill, carrots, and a sea vegetable. My description of the flavor doesn't do it justice; it was exceptional. The fish was cooked to perfection, with crisp edges and a tender center. My partner opted for the beef cheeks, which were incredibly tender and flavorful—exactly what you'd hope for. In my opinion, this is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Kendal.

When we arrived, we found a cozy table with plenty of space for a stroller. The waitstaff was fantastic, extremely attentive to our needs, and well-informed about the allergy. They made us feel completely comfortable managing the request. We ordered the Brat-Rind dinner and the sticky toffee pudding. I can confidently say it was hands down the best Sunday dinner I’ve ever had (sorry, Grandma!). The sticky toffee pudding was absolutely incredible! My wife was thrilled to learn she could indulge in the pudding, as she rarely gets to enjoy dessert like that. We loved all the food, and I believe we’ve found a new favorite spot. Booked last minute for a Sunday dinner when friends visited. I phoned and spoke to Helen (manager and asked if they could accommodate for a severe nut (tree nut and peanuts allergy. Helen explained that all food is cooked fresh and they are confident with knowing what each dishes ingredients are and they will ensure clean utensils and work stations are used to prepare the allergy meal. Helen advised her husband was the chef (as it's a family business! And she would advise him of the allergy and also print a separate menu taking off the meals that contained nuts.
