"The menu had plenty to offer, and to our surprise, the service was actually very quick. The portion sizes were generous, too. I ordered the apple-ham and chicken salad, which was delicious and a great value at £13. There were many other tempting options, including stuffed peppers, homemade coleslaw, and a crispy mixed salad. Others in our party had burgers, which were impressive in size; there was also a vegan option available. The lamb dish was particularly nice, served with a vibrant, zesty orange and parsnip velouté. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed our meal outside in the lovely covered area under a grape pergola, surrounded by a charming beer garden filled with cosmos and rudbeckia flowers. There was even a stream at the end of the garden where they keep a crocodile!"

Delicious lunchtime meal from short menu, cooked by a friendly and passionate top quality chef. Caribbean curry was amazing and selection of desserts all superb

I had a chicken-cheese salad. Usually they don't expect much when they order that. they were the hands I've ever had. great personal and fantastic atmosphere. highly recommended. beautiful!

A great find. Most welcoming pub I've been to in a long time. Well-kept Wye Valley pint, excellent lunch menu. We had Barbadian jackfruit curry (pub curries are usually pretty forgettable; this was interesting, spicy and tasty) and home made beef ale pie which was tender and had excellent pastry. Worth going back for more

I had an excellent experience with the very friendly service at this restaurant. The pub has been completely renovated, combining a modern yet classic atmosphere. On a cold day, it was delightful to enjoy the warmth of two real fireplaces. The menu offers generous portions, and I especially appreciated the Wye Valley Bitter on tap! Overall, it was a brilliant visit!

Excellent service, friendly people and fabulous food. A delightful pub by the river Wye and close to the Hoarworthy circular walk. A good selection of gin beer and cider and soft drinks plus a varied menu that is delicious and came quickly (and all together) after our order was placed as a large group . It has the added plus of containing a small selection of household essentials in the small shop located inside the pub.

I had an excellent meal at this restaurant. The menu was diverse and unique, truly a testament to the chef's skills. The front-of-house staff were exceptional, even on a busy night, and the food was wonderful. There's also a lovely beer garden in the back. I always make it a point to dine here on the last night of my holiday to end on a high note, and it never disappoints. Oh, and the live music on Thursday was fantastic! I wanted to save it for the kids, but it was too enjoyable to pass up.

The pub has been beautifully refurbished, maintaining a traditional charm. The food was decent; while the ribs were a bit tough, the steak and ale pie was quite good. However, the chips reminded me of the frozen ones from Aldi's Specially Selected range—freshly made chips would be much more fitting for such a traditional establishment. The drinks menu was diverse, but I found the prices quite steep for a country pub—£6.50 for a Buxton IPA and £5.30 for a cask Butty Bach make it one of the pricier cask beers I've encountered, even compared to my experiences in Cheshire pubs! On a positive note, the service was abundant, with many friendly staff members.
