Fantastic chateaubriand with delicious peppercorn sauce accompanied by chips and mixed salad, followed by home made warm Bakewell tart (to die for! and ice cream. Great service, friendly olde world restaurant /pub we will definitely return.

On Father's Day, I went without a reservation and had to sit outside, but I found plenty of comfortable seating options. I was able to choose from the entire menu and probably enjoyed the best hamburger and fries I’ve had in years. The old inn is well-maintained and handled the busy day remarkably well.

Stopped in for lunch as a party of five with 1 toddler and baby, exceptional service and the food was fantastic. The refurbishment is absolutely wonderful especially the toilets which were superbly clean. No one complained about our noisy daughter and we're happy to welcome her. I had a fantastic lunch that lasted three hours, and we never felt rushed. The food was delicious! This was my second visit, and I was not disappointed. The young girl who served us was very polite and helpful, and we left before we could even type a thank you. The atmosphere of the old gas house was lovely, and we truly had a wonderful time. I enjoyed an omelette and a pizza, and I wish I had noticed the warm and fragrant lemon sizzle dish.

Haven't visited this pub for years and wow, what a transformation. Greeted by lovely display of outside Christmas lights the decorations inside were very tasteful. Lovely real fire inside, which added to the cosy atmosphere. Staff attentive and nice menu choices. Sampled a lovely speciality pie mash I wasn't disappointed. Then sampled two scoops from their vast choice of ice creams, which were very flavoursome. Never seen such a choice in a pub! Definitely will be back!

I have known this restaurant for many years, and I must say that its current incarnation is the best yet. The transformation is remarkable; the pub exudes a traditional atmosphere while also incorporating some contemporary style, offering guests a choice that suits their mood. My group enjoyed a classic dining experience, and we were not disappointed with the service or the food. The staff is abundant and well-trained, always focused on customer satisfaction. The quality of the food was excellent, and overall, the experience was outstanding. I only wish this place were on the Olive Branch; it would be perfect in Wimborne.
