"Arranged a meal for several members of our family. We had a booking elsewhere which cancelled, so came across the Plough via the reviews on here. Considering we phoned for a fairly large table on a saturday night, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We hadn't been to the Plough prior to the meal, but were all very pleased . Staff were all really freindly, food was very nice. We had some of the Tapas starters and everyone had their own main course. We had amongst us the duck, several plates of the pork goulash(? and a steak. To a person everyone commented on how much they had enjoyed the food and were very complimentary of the pub overall. Thank you all for a lovely evening."

We had a lovely meal last night. The steak was cooked perfectly and the seabass was delicious. Nikki and Grace were extremely attentive, as usual, making sure we had everything we needed and even taking the time to chat with customers.

Our family (12no) were treated to a wonderful Sunday roast dinner at The Plough Inn Claverley while celebrating a special birthday. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the service and food were the best we’ve had for a long time. Thank you to all involved. We would definitely recommend a visit to family friends. I am a vegetarian so I had a roast lunch without meat.No salmon or cod on the menu so this was my choice.I was disappointed when I paid my bill that they only took £1 OFF the price of my meal .I would have expected at least £3 as that is the dearest part. The meal was very nice ,but disgusting price .Shame on you plough in claverly.

The restaurant serves fresh, hot homemade food with generous portion sizes and friendly, helpful staff. It has a traditional country pub atmosphere with good beer, a varied menu, and no pretentiousness. The pub classics are particularly well-executed. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely return without hesitation.

This is one of the friendliest pubs I’ve ever been in, a proper old British pub. The staff and owner were all helpful and very welcoming as were the locals. The food was amazing, there was a great selection of beers and we had a fantastic experience staying on the car park in our motorhome it was so quiet. I would heartily recommend the Plough Inn at Claverley to anyone. Visualizza piatti

Visited over many years, dissapointed they have not upped there game in this cutthroat world of pub lunches and the passion has gone long ago, stuck around back of chimney breast, very little veg between two lunches, Roast potatoes pathetic, overall, the bill was to my mind £8-10 overpriced for what we had, on the plus side the B&B pudding delicious Will leave it now for 12 months to hear local FB??

We just popped in for a quick bite to eat after playing tennis nearby with our 2 young children. We had some great food (fillet steak and linguine and the kids ate a good portion of sausage, chips and beans after being offered options not necessarily on the menu. The staff were super friendly and could not have been more attentive to us and our kids. I have been to the this pub many times but wanted to review on this occasion as it was a last minute visit and we were well catered for, thanks guys : (sorry no photo's of the yummy food, doh!

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity. If you are looking for a curry house with a difference this is the place for you. #theshropshirefoodies #foodblog #foodstagram #shrewsbury #shropshire #restaurantreview #foodjournal #foodblogger #instafood"

"Fantastic range of small dishes and meals for lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from scandi to oriental, so something for everyone. The menu is clearly marked with allergens, including what meals can be adapted. The chicken is halal and vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. The cocktail and mocktail menu is great and they do one of the best espresso martinis in Shrewsbury. The decor is modern and comfortable and there is plenty of space. As a wheelchair user, I can get into the ground floor and to a table. The outside seats are up a small step, but the whole front of the building is a retractable wall of windows, so I can still get the feeling of eating outside in good weather. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about allergies, the menu and the wine list. The staff are helpful and unobtrusive. The only difficulty for me (hence the 4 star review) is that the accessible bathroom is next door, in their sister bar, Libertine. Unfortunately, libertine isn't open the same hours as HotRS, so I can only use it at certain times. The ladies does have a lock on the door, so staff have cleared the ladies toilets, which allowed me to take my chair in and lock the door. I had to walk a couple of steps to get into a stall but my chair was safely with me. Of course, there is also no alarm cord, but they stood outside the door so would have heard if I shouted for help."
