"This was the first time I have managed to meet up with my retired colleagues and friends for a lunch here. There were 11 of us so we were asked to order food at the bar then we could all be served at the same time. The food was hot, very tasty and well served by friendly staff. I am surprised to read a bad review from a few days ago. There was no bad smell and the staff could not be any better. I am not a local and neither are some of my friends. They were very friendly to all of us.Service was so good we ALL left the staff a tip."

Came for a quick drink, and found we were the only people in. Decor is above average, music taste leaves a bit to be desired. Very polite barman.

This is a nice pub but don’t order a ploughman’s lunch as it is very poor. The content is skimpy to say the least. I would hazard a guess that it is about £1.50 worth of food.

We have been to the Star several times since the start of the year and have been very pleased indeed with the quality of the food the variety of choice on the menu and specials board and the service

Had a great time at the Star Inn last night, delicious meal with lots of choice and large portions. The lamb Henry was divine and the Tiramisu is yummy The staff were attentive and polite. Would highly recommend.

Went with family , 6 adults, the ambience and food were just as I remembered and expected, very friendly and lovely, best place around for a good meal home cooked and choice of ales. Will certainly continue going back.

Great atmosphere, food and staff but a specials board should be in the place where you are seated with a menu. To have it in the bar where it cannot be seen is very inconvenient! This means you have to keep getting up to read it, maybe have it printed on paper and given to you with the menu?
