"the building itself is really picturesque inside and outside especially the alkove through the window for 2 where we sat, which was very pleasant both my and my partner main and dessert were a very good size, inexpensive, and very tasty personal were very friendly and accommodating I have attached a few pictures of what I had, although in my greed tanked the image of the main skinning the black puddy. also, the image could not convey it, but the dessert was really great (probably twice from what it would get to some other places)."

we visited Sunday, had a fantastic meal. astonishing roast! a terrible pud. the personal, where beautiful, a great atmosphere. affordable treatment. in any case will try again to get more from their big menu.

The food was really delicious, kale and cauliflower cous salat and seasoned chickpea, eggplant and spinach burger. The salad was very small so I chose a dessert. That, in contrast, was huge and I couldn't finish it! The burger was enough filling without dessert.

Great to see a pub embracing being open again, busy but not packed and very friendly staff who served promptly without pressing. Food classic pub essentials with a few twists like apple sorbet on pulled pork. Generous portions for main course. Puddings so yummy we started eating before taking a review photo!

Just a delightful country pub. Haven't tried the food but the restaurant is always busy so I think that speaks for itself. Good range of real ales and first class service everytime. Very much an all inclusive pub. I'm trans and there's never been an issue using the ladies... One day Google will let me change my name

Once again, great food at a great price. The staff are always welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The food was very fresh and the portions were big enough that we couldn't fit the desert in!! (The Star are missing a trick there!! It's a lovely setting not far from Newbury or Basingstoke that works well for a romantic meal for two or a family get-together. We will definitely be back. Keep up the good work!

we had the most beautiful meal on holy evening, the pub itself is beautiful inside, greeted by the friendly staff, including lurking the man. we had baked mushrooms and brewed cocktail to start, and then hunters chicken and a torte for pornstar. the portions were great, eating was excellent and overall we had a nice time. the dog also shook with us, which they sorted a bowl of water for them. cannot wait to return!

I ordered the salad that should come with avocado, butternut, apple, spinach, beet root and cucumber. I was served salad and buckwheat in oil, with none of the other things. I asked and they offered to try again, but they returned the same dish with spring onion and added orange. This whole process took a long time. Other people at my table had no salads and everything was messed up. When we finished, the plates were sitting on the table for an hour. This was during a seemingly quiet day because of Covid-19. Avoid.
