"Turned up without a booking to try and grab a bite to eat. However, as they were busy with a large table, we were initially told they would not be serving any walk-ins. We were content and ordered a drink anyway, but to our surprise the chef informed us that he would serve us food after all. This in itself was great service but then the great food on top was the icing on the cake. All in all a great experience and we fully recommend. Will be back soon. A good selection of food at good prices. The lasagne was excellent, home cooked with plenty of beef, accompanied by garlic bread and salad. Washed down with a pint of Directors bitter. They happily accommodated our walking group on a very wet and muddy day! Thanks! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch. Tasty, lovely presentation and plentiful. The most beautiful gravy. We also had dessert. The rhubarb and apple crumble and the honeycomb cheese cake were divine.
