Villa Merton at the Union International Club

Dinner at a beautiful villa. Went with large business group. Very special location, although outside from the city centre. Good food. Michelin star.

Very nice restaurant. We asked for the food to be served quickly as we had to get away for the football and it was swift, but certainly not rushed. Good was good and nice flavours. We were a group of and chose our food...in advance. Still don’t understand why they charge an extra per person because we had different mains.

A beautiful location and atmosphere, we sat on the terrace thanks to the fabulous weather. The service, atmosphere and cuisine are all We had the course menu and every course was a masterpiece both to see and taste. Chef Andre is a craftsman...of cuisine. I also recommend you follow the suggestions of Sommelier Marcus for the best pairings with your dining experience.

While on business travel in Frankfurt, I decided to knock out a Michelin starred restaurant. I was seated by the fireplace in the main dining room and took all the suggestions my server offered including the pairings. Everything was exceptional, but the venison was as...good as any wagyu I've eaten. Service was excellent. Wine was perfectly paired and the facility was beautiful.

I plan my dining in Frankfurt around my trip to Villa Merton. I’ve simply never been disappointed! On each of my last two visits I chose the vegetarian with wine pairing. Superb each time. Pricing, professional staff and ambiance are what you would expect...from a Michelin restaurant. The location nestled in a quiet neighbourhood adds to the opportunity to decompress. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy Villa Merton.

Good dinner poor service far from what should be a Michelin star restaurant: need to ring and wait a while at the door, waiter interrupting conversation or taking plate before meal is finished, no one at the cloakroom to handover costs when leaving!!!!...On the other hand food is good except a black rice meal that was too sour. Wine list is ok but not too large. Atmosphere is comfortable but a bit impersonal and cold.

One of the big attractions of Villa Merton, besides an interesting looking menu, was that it is open on Mondays most of Frankfurt's fine dining places have a Ruhetag on both Sunday and Monday. This made it a nice fit around my fine-dining heavy...stay in Frankfurt. It's a lovely building in a quiet residential and diplomatic area of Frankfurt, although only about minutes in a taxi from my Opernplatz hotel the driver was not aware of it though, so make sure you have the address to hand if taking a taxi. The villa is divided into a series of nicely appointed dining rooms, with good spacing between tables. I chose the vegetarian menu of course, which came with an additional amuse and a very tas...

Such a shame that what should be remembered as a great night is tarred by the poor service we received. In Frankfurt recently with friends and booked at Villa Merton as a treat, as we could only go on the Saturday evening we booked in...for the special in the gourmet restaurant, I can only think that the level of service is reduced because you're paying a reduced price. Having eaten at other star Michelin restaurants I was able to compare situations and this fell way short of the service expected. Once seated there was a little too long a wait to be asked for drinks/water but eventually we were seen to and handed menus. This is when things started to go wrong. We were a party of with one veg...
