"Was in having a drink with some friends was waiting for my lift home and heard the owner shouting at a staff member. Dayle the staff member) had been brilliant all night very attentive and pleasant and when asking for payment from the people playing poker was told to be quiet and to hush and this was at closing time. The owner was shouting so loud I could hear him from outside and was incredibly disrespectful in how he was talking to her. I could hear her crying due to how she was being spoken to and I will not spend my money in a place that treats their staff so poorly I would strongly encourage everyone else to do so, she was clearly asking for help when the owner started shouting at her."

first visit today and we'll definitely be back! the personal was friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. for a burger I can recommend the 'big west' burger. decent plates of burger, with speck and generous portions of cheddar.

first class pub and restaurant. are huge and we are priced, eating is excellent with seasonal and local ingredients. the staff and the owner john are friendly, helpful and really go the extra mile to help with nothing too much annoying for them.

Popped in for a meal. Staff very friendly. The prawn starters were great but disappointing mains. The rice on the cajun chicken sizzler was very wet and the prawns on the haddock and prawn gratin were like rubber but the fish was nice. Overall, not convinced the food was worth what we paid.

a must! we jumped here for lunch after a morning walk, eating was beautiful! with the lunch there are two courses for about £12, which was a bargain for the quality of the food they get. lady who served us was really friendly and the owner dipped just before we left, again really friendly and gave our pup much attention!

Spotted this place on Google when looking for local bistro pubs and made a reservation based on the previous enthusiastic reviews. First visit today and was highly impressed. Staff are amazing. Attentive, Friendly and helpful. Extensive and inventive menu with a varied choice of sauces to suit your taste. Beautifully presented food with staff keen to gain diners’ opinions to feed back to chef. Great ambience in the cosy restaurant, but diners are also invited to eat in the bar if they prefer. Prices are very reasonable, with generous portions. 5 star experience all day long. Perfect.

"My husband and I bought an itison voucher for brunch for £29 for The Sorn Inn. When we arrived at 12 we were the only ones in the restaurant. I ordered the eggs benedict with the sauce on the side and my husband ordered the full scottish breakfast. We had to wait a while, I'm unsure how long exactly but we weren't too bothered as we thought our food was all being made fresh. When it arrived, my husband's food look really nice. No complaints there. My eggs benedict consisted of 2 cold toasted slices of bloomer bread. One with 1 slice of fried bacon on it and the other with 1 poached egg. The hollandaise sauce was in fact mayonnaise. I called the waitress over and told her this wasn't what I ordered. I ordered eggs benedict which was stated on the menu as a toasted muffin, ham and poached eggs with a hollandaise sauce. She was lovely. She apologised and said she would take it back to the kitchen. After she done this she returned and said that there was no muffins left and would I like to order something else. By this point my husband was halfway through his breakfast. Why was eggs benedict even on the menu if there were no muffins?? I told the waitress I would have the full scottish breakfast then. By this time there was 2 other tables filled and the eggs benedictwas still being sold. Our waitress brought me over another coffee while I waited on my breakfast. It wasn't quick. It was alright when it arrived. But not great. The toast was still cold and there wasn't any butter. Zoe our waitress was wonderful. Whatever the owners are paying her, just isn't enough. She was apologetic, attentive and calm under pressure. Why didn't the chef tell Zoe to take the eggs benedict off the menu as it was still being sold when we were leaving. What kind of chef thinks cold toast, bacon and mayo is eggs benedict? We have been to the Sorn Inn on numerous times before and the food has been outstanding. Such a shame as we do like to eat out and support local and smaller restaurants but we won't be hurrying back."
