Wheatsheaf Inn - Menu

We had a fantastic lunch at the Wheatsheaf today with my elderly parents. The service was excellent and attentive, and we really enjoyed the food.

fabulous food, in lovely surroundings, very pleasant staff, cannot fault it in any way. so much so we wished we had been staying in the hotel, maybe next time.

Last stayed there in 2018 and enjoyed the experience. We thought we would give it another go and were not disappointed. Very comfortable room with all the amenities, great food and pleasant and attentive staff. We really enjoyed our stay once again.

Great food and loved the decor. Our food was very good Beef Burgundy, with homemade rolls and butter. The only downside was we weren’t sat in dining room, but in a well appropriated den like room. We were dressed appropriately and not sure why we were not sat in dining room..

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The rooms were nice and the hotel was centrally located for the coast. The food was delicious and I had breakfast and dinner here. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering to carry luggage, etc. The hotel is located in a peaceful village.

The Wheasheaf Hotel occupies pride of place on the Main Street of the little vilage of Swinton in the Borders. The Sunday Lunch menu provided an aray of pub standards including roast pork and roast beef. There is a suite of starters and an array of desserts (Bailey's Cheesecake was smooth and creamy) from which to choose. Prices are moderate and the meals well presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the facilities comfortable and spacious. All staff were masked, and masks were supplied for customers to move through the building.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at the inn for our wedding anniversary. The room was perfect, with a large comfortable bed and all the necessary facilities. Chris was incredibly welcoming and a fantastic host, and we also appreciated Liv, our waitress. We dined at the restaurant both nights because the food was outstanding on the first night. I ordered the fish and chips, and as we are from the East Neuk of Fife where fish and chip restaurants regularly receive awards, I must say it was the best fish and chips I have ever tasted - kudos to the chef! I am reviewing the Restaurant in this post having also enjoyed a two night stay. The evening meal came as part of the generous package of Two course dinner when booking the room. Reception was extremely friendly and the comprehensive menu was brought to our pre prandial seats in the Bar in front of a roaring log fire. The menu was a delight to the eye and very comprehensive with, I am sure, something for everyone 's taste. I am a fan of duck dishes and the starter the first evening was a 'duck ' salad with rocket. Not what I would have normally combined but I gave it a go and have no regrets. My wife had the garlic mushrooms and says the same. For mains I thought to avoid the 'usual offering...
