"I love coming to this bar, for food or drinks. It’s definitely a favourite of mine and all my friends/family too. The staff are so kind and welcoming, they talk with absolutely everyone and are help with anything they can while in their establishment. The food is superb, made to a very high quality. There is a menu which is updated and changed regularly, with a special which changes too. The beer here is great, a mixture of draught and canned/bottles. Plenty of choice from ale to cider. They have a great ‘spin the wheel’ game here which gives you a random drink when you can’t decide what to get! Plenty of seating in here, from stools in the window with street view. To couches in the corner to chill out on, there’s normal seating with tables in the main area along with seating on benches in the back yard. Toilets are always kept super clean as well as the whole place too, the atmosphere is just so cool and chilled out."

"Upon our arrival, we were seated in the bar area and promptly given menus and offered drinks. Our order, set menu A, was taken after a short wait. We were then escorted to our table and served poppadoms with a chutney tray within 5 minutes, which was a nice touch. The starters included onion bhajis, sheesh kebab, and a unique garlic chicken soup that was surprisingly tasty. For our main course, we enjoyed chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh, pilau rice, and garlic naan, all of which were delicious and filling - definitely enough for two people! As part of the set menu, we were supposed to receive a coffee liqueur each, but it was not offered initially. Although there was a minor issue with the bill, it was quickly resolved (the waiter was new and not familiar with the set menu). However, when we requested the coffees, we were charged for them. Despite the small oversight, it was only a minimal amount so we decided to pay it without further ado. We would consider returning to this restaurant, but as always, it is important to double-check your bill before paying."

"I bring the family in every now and then for some good food. Waiting on staff are great and the chef is always accommodating. Tonight however, we came in on the spur of the moment and stumbled into curry. My “house manager” got herself a prawn masala and I plumbed for the lamb jalfrezi. It was one of the best hesitant menu choices I have ever made. The jalfrezi was not the hottest I have had, but it was certainly the tastiest and the lamb melted in the mouth. I’m sat here writing this thinking I’ll be back on Thursday night for sure. Kids meals were great too…. Battered fish was cooked beautifully and there were too many chunky chips for my daughter which were handy for mopping up my jalfrezi sauce haha. So lucky to have this place on our doorstep."

"I dined with here a week ago now. It was meant to be a very special occasion and it was ruined. We were told different things about the menu by different staff, which is frustrating when trying to order. Some things on the menu were not available, but this was not pointed out to us until we tried to order them, meaning an even longer unnecessary wait. The food was lovely, when we did eventually get it, as the wait time was quite long. We had ordered a white wine, the wrong wine was brought to the table twice. First a rose was presented to us, second was another rose, eventually we got the white wine. Shortly after this, we seen the same thing happen to a table next to us, they were presented with the same rose when they ordered a red. My mother went to ask for the bill and was told it would be dropped to the table. We sat and waited, with no sign of the bill. Eventually a waitress came to the table with a card machine, and acted surprised we had not received the bill, despite it being some time. This is not the first time we have left here disappointed. Unfortunately, I contacted The Black Bull over a week ago and have yet to hear back from them."

"Booked a table there last minute after a visit to Whalley Abbey. The staff were very helpful and polite. The place is cosy and contemporary, and the food is excellent. The portions exceeded my expectations and very reasonably priced highly recommended.
