"On reading the reviews I feel I’ve been robbed of great service and great food as today, I had neither. Our lunch took over half an hour to come and when my haddock Kedgeree arrived there was one lonely piece of fish in a whole plate of rice and peas. The poached egg was hard cooked and there was no seasoning. It was a disgrace. There are so many nice places to eat around this area so unfortunately I would not return here."

"A little bit more character than your average cafe, we were pleased we chose to pause here for a light lunch. The soup and roll option appealed the roll was large and fresh, and the soup tasty (broccoli and cheddar). The sweet treats were impossible to resist, and so we followed up with coffee and cake. I asked for a double shot in a smaller cup, and got a good coffee of a decent strength. We chose the carrot cake and the Victoria sponge both were fresh and moist. We also asked for some tap water which came out in a generous sized glass which we appreciated. This is quite a large cafe with tables at the rear under the dome, and in little booths at the front with a view out to the street. It is not a stuffy space the front door was open letting in some cool air on a warmer day. Toilets at the back. There were plenty of locals eating there on the day we visited, a testament to a reliable, consistent place."

"originally very surprised that the lights were so bright that it ruined any chance of a beautiful atmosphere in a beautiful building. After we had set ourselves, we waited almost minutes before the waiter wanted to take our drinks. I'm not sure what he had to check or why he had to check before we ordered, because it was very quiet. he disappeared and a waitress appeared shortly after and took our job. our appetizers appeared immediately. my squid was treated in what can only be described as flour and water paste that was fried. it was very bland. my friend had the scallops that were good. the main thing was not great. my crispy halibut was tiny and the chips were really terrible. think about soggy palid school dinner chips. the beingeschirr of chard was beautiful, but overall the meal was bad. the cod curry of my friend with rice looked like a teller dog sick and had a massive bone in him, which was unexpected and she would not have chosen it if she had known it so. I've been closing with her. it tasted okay, but looked grim. the service was terrible with taking off the cat who brought the drinks that was very efficient. but he did not take the drinks orders, so we sat drinking water for half time. it's such a shame because it could be really good. sort out the lighting. they lose the gray pink walls and develop a certain content together with the waiting staff. they were all friendly, but not very good at selling food and drinks. on the plus side the fish was very fresh and it is very cheap."

"Not so good experience. My wife and I had the all day breakfast my son son had Mac cheese. Mac cheese was bland and was microwave the Mac cheese was served within 1 min of ordering. My mushroom were piping hot my wife’s were cold. (Microwaved) common theme going on in here everything is microwaved. The bacon was cooked within a inch of its life could not even cut through the bacon. My wife left her meal, I ate mine as I was starving after a 25 mile cycle I would have ate a scabby goat."

"I have eaten here several time over the last 10 years or so. Speaking as an Indian food lover of nearly 60 years standing, I’d say the food is exceptional. The service is really nice from a lovely team but my it’s slow. Always has been, never really been a problem except with guests who are always amazed at just how slow it is but all that is immediately forgotten when the food arrives. The food is great, try the Kathmani Masala or the King Prawn Garlic Chilli, the Lamb Achori or the Butter Chicken but, if waiting for your meal is not your strong suit, get a takeaway, in fact I’m off to call in my order…"
