"Honestly super disappointed, over priced for what it is. It's very much an all or nothing place. We were also seated directly Infront of and completely blocking the fire exit. I got the stuffed vine leaves, a personal favourite, there was only 4 small parcels (about half the size of anywhere else) they were served with a single slice of tomato a single slice of cucumber and a dinner plate full of tzatziki. My son had the hummus with toasted bread, this had the same problem with a massive amount of dip, this time with 4 1 inch cubes of bread. The hummus was completely flavourless and extremely watery. I asked for a few olives to be added to my son's pasta, fully expecting to pay around £1 as an extra, however they charged us £4.95 which doubled the price of his meal. My dad order a medium rare steak with blue cheese sauce, there was barely any sauce and the steak was well-done, he sent it back and got a pretty ok steak but it was swimming in sauce."

"Visited this restaurant several times but felt the food and staff weren’t as good as when it first opened so haven’t been for over six months. This changed last night, everything was perfect. Three different starters, simple but beautifully presented and full of flavour. Main courses were fillet steaks cooked to perfection (one medium and one blue), the king prawns which came with it were huge and juicy, with the price being so much cheaper than you would expect to pay, however the quality, most definitely 100%. I had a calzone pizza which again had plenty of filling and the pizza dough was so tasty. A special thank you to the lady who served us, didn’t get her name, she was friendly and attentive without being intrusive definitely going back sooner rather than later."

"Stayed in Beamish Park Hotel across the road 4th -8th August 2022 and after a day at Beamish Museum first day fancied a meal and drink How amazed we were with this place. Super friendly staff making all 4 of us really welcome.The meals were freshly prepared and extremely well presented.Cooked to perfection and served all together so we started and finished as a family.Even the local regular people made us all feel welcome and joined in conversation with us.This place was so good for the next three nights of our stay at the Beamish Park Hotel after a days outing we returned to the Causey Arch Inn to have evening meals and drinks, it was that good, the meals were outstanding and as always we were welcomed to the extent we were nearly classed as locals.I would urge anyone staying at the Beamish Hotel to walk over the road and try this place ,you will not be disappointed, but I believe impressed with everything from the atmosphere, the meals, drinks and local people who are genuine down to earth people who do not judge but welcome you as guests and friends.We are already planning our return and will give our custom to this place.Why go anywhere else when you have such an outstanding atmosphere staff, meals the whole 9 yards.Thank you to everyone for your welcome and service, we will see you again definitely."

"beautiful little jeans in whickham! I can only say that I have been on toast everywhere for avacodo poached eier and that was my favorite! full taste and even the granatapfelwerk! beautiful coffee is also served there, they can always tell premium coffee. only the reason why I don't give 5 start is because it could do with some better sitting places in the free and some bees like corona or flake etc."

"I had a great time at the hilltop , I was served by a lad named Jack bell , we got talking for a bit and he was very friendly and was willing to tell me the entire menu and what to recommend. He had a very friendly feel about him but was very efficient at his job but also found time to talk to customers regular or not. Even though I only visited the once it made an impact in me because of this outgoing friendly personally and makes me want to come to the hilltop again. Service was brilliant from this staff member and really Made me feel welcome."
