Nice welcome, quality bread. Just the name of the establishment may be a mistake. I actually asked the inhabitants of the region what was the name of the curious black bird, I was unanimously told that it was cabbage, but it is an error because there is no cabbage in this area but yellow beak Chocards (Pyrrhocorax graculus).

This restaurant was booked for us by our Chalet team and when we arrived I didn’t hold out much hope as the entrance makes it look like a pretty ordinary pub. But do not let that put you off. Go in. We were sat down and talked through the menu and we soon realised this was some rather special food. And sure enough, it was. Everything sounded delicious and everything we ordered was excellent. The wine list is nice and as one would expect in France had nice choices across the price range. The staff were really friendly and helpful and if you arrive early or have time after, the bar is really lively and has a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

Went out for a meal at the Queue de Cochon, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable yet still felt very classy. The manager, Sarah, was very helpful, talking through the menu in detail while describing all the dishes and what they came with. The charcuterie board was great with enough for multiple people, the pigs tail which was accompanied by croutons and apple sauce were absolutely delicious, and the Joues de Boeuf was perfectly tender, as it just melted apart. It came with mash and carrots in a beef jus which tasted amazing. The food came with a bread basket with homemade passion fruit and sweet chilli butter which tasted incredible, lovely touch to the already beautiful meal. Everyt...
