Provender - Menu

Very beautiful breakfast and lovely service. Can’t rate this Borders restaurant highly enough. We’ve visited several times and never been disappointed.

we really enjoyed our evening at Provender. the roasted cod and the sirloin steak were both perfectly cooked, and the Rhabarb-Pannacotta was amazing. friendly, attentive staff that felt welcome.

Amazing! Where to begin. Fantastic, professional and attentive staff! Unbelievable food, the best we've had all year. Great drinks and lovely ambiance. Cannot recommend this place enough! Hopefully be back soon in the New Year.

This restaurant has a lovely ambience, professional but also friendly and helpful staff, and the food was delicious. We had the vegetarian set menu available until which was creative, full of flavour and amazing value. There's also a set menu for the meat-eaters....We would totally recommend this restaurant.

hang down maybe the best we had since our stay in Scotland. we stay a week in edinburgh so we have met a lot of decent eating in the city. a day bus tour brought us to melrose and to travel advisor reviews and. to find somewhere with a clean view, we arrived at Provender. we had lunch with her. we had the smoked salmon for appetizers and the celeriac burger for our main. the menu looked safe as if it could fulfill the variety of the palate.

Dropped in on spec during day-visit to Melrose. Pleasant welcom. eSeated in centre of dining area nicely decoraed with comfortable, upholstered dining chairs. Opted each for the set lunch.Very good starter of goats cheese , pumpkin leaves; tasty, properly cooked medium...rare, tender bavette beef with salad leaves good chips aslightly disappointing crumble', like granola with plum compote. Service was pleasant;wine list looked good. Price reasonable .

After ordering drinks (I chose a local IPA), we both started with the delicious Oyster tempura with champagne aioli and caviar - a luxurious choice for sure. With Christmas approaching, we decided to go for the British turkey wrapped in pancetta, complete with all the traditional trimmings (including crispy pigs in blankets). It was a lovely meal overall, though I personally found the roast potatoes a bit greasy. Despite that minor issue, the food was very good and definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Melrose.

My experience at Provender as a solo diner or with a group was mixed. The first time I visited, the food, atmosphere, and attentive staff were fantastic. However, during my most recent visit, the dinner felt more like a lunch due to the limited choices for appetizers and main courses. The food was still good, but since it was a special celebration, we were slightly underwhelmed. This was a stark contrast to my previous visit during New Year's when I had an excellent tasting menu with wine pairings. Despite this recent experience, I am confident that I will return to Provender in the future. I just hope it will be as enjoyable as before.

My wife and I have visited this restaurant several times now and have always had a fantastic dining experience. The staff is wonderful and accommodating, especially when it comes to my severe food allergy. They even printed out an egg-free version of the menu for me. Our most recent visit was on New Year's Eve, where we enjoyed a delicious tasting menu with options that were safe for me to eat. To top it off, they surprised me with a special dessert that was made just for me. It was a thoughtful gesture that really impressed us. We have already made reservations for January and plan to dine here at least once a month. With top-notch food just around the corner, what's not to love about this...
