"We visited last night for a family birthday. Been before, but not for a while. Four adults and one pre-teen with very specific likes and dislikes! The choice of food was amazing. Specials boards, saver menu, fish, steak, pasta...... It's all there. I had the mushrooms with a cheesy tomato sauce to start, which was gorgeous, and then the fish curry half and half. The chips were gorgeous, and the curry was out of this, world! My husband couldn't make it, so I asked if I could order a takeaway for him. The waitress said that most things could be packed to take away, so I ordered him a chicken curry half and half. Everyone's meals arrived together, and our waitress was attentive but not overly so. We were allowed to eat our meals at our own pace without feeling rushed. My stepdad has dementia, so can take ages to choose and then to eat, but again, we weren't rushed. All agreed the meals were lovely. Nobody could manage dessert, although there were, again, many choices. Our waitress brought out my husband's curry when we asked for the bill, and it was piping hot and well packed. All in all, a hugely enjoyable evening was had by all xx"

"Family went for a birthday celebration on Friday evening. Bar staff made mistakes with drinks order and gave malibu and coke not lemonade. There ware 9 addults and 2 babies. The food orders wer supposed to all come together at the same time but my sister her partner and son all had a long wait for their meals. When we asked how come there was such a long wait they offered my sister a free glass of wine by way of an apology but it would have been better if the food had all come at the same time. We ordered 3 Lasagne, 2 beef and 1 chicken and bacon from the specials board the servers brought us 4 and didn't know which ones they were. The steaks ordered were supposed to come with pepper sauce but tasted strongly of curry. this is the 2nd time family members have vistied where meals have not been what was ordered so maybe the staff need better training and more diligence with bringing correct dishes to the right customers. The venue is lovely and I even had a laugh with the bar man when one of the bar staff didn't appear to understand him telling her he was going to change the coke syrup and to pour a diet coke for me so I was quite disappointed in our experience. That said, when i got my correct chicken and bacon lasagne it was very tasty. Sadly we won't return again."

"We enjoyed a well-prepared Sunday roast with generous portions. The lovely hostess gave us a warm welcome and managed to find us a table, even though the pub was quite busy. The atmosphere was cozy, thanks to a roaring wood-burning stove, which really made a difference. We happily lingered and ordered an extra drink. We’ve definitely decided that this will be a regular stop for us during lunchtime!"

"We visited here without booking as we found ourselves staying nearby. Although very busy the staff went out of the way to fit us in and we were soon seated! The staff were really friendly and explained the small plate ethos of this European restaurant....They advised on the amount to have, how to connect to the barcode online descriptions for all food and the local sustainable food policy. We ordered a variety of small plates and all the food was excellent and well presented. Wine selection and foreign beers also great and all reasonably priced. The service was good throughout. Lovely evening!! You should try it!!!"
