"This place is a hidden gem and a regular for us. Busy or quiet, day or night, the service and food are exquisite! The team make you feel welcome and are super attentive, decor is cosy and beautiful, food is out of this world... always served fresh and piping hot. Due to its location the pub is very quiet on a weekday and we sometimes dine alone which is a real treat, quiet and intimate. But even on a busy night the tables are spaced well apart and it's not terribly noisy. I haven't yet left this place without feeling like I might explode as the portions are very generous but it's so tasty that we just can't stop eating! Positives everything. Negatives need bigger trousers."

"I've been visiting the Anchor for years and have never had a bad meal. The food and service are consistently excellent. They offer a wide selection of home-cooked meals, and I appreciate the option for smaller portions! They also have an impressive variety of gluten-free starters and main dishes, which is fantastic since my husband can enjoy the same extensive choices as I do. I highly recommend it!"

"we demand customers: our table of 5 had two wheelchairs and three Fussy-Esser. nothing was too much annoyed for the Orchard employees. from our first phone call: we have a ramp of this particular input and will put them on table 7 that close to the door, and the toilets, but not too close, on our request for half a size and for a starter sharing board on the table for shaking during the meal. take them boxes with a smile for uneaten eating and the provision of small portions of ice (not on the menu.) we are already planning our return. since the next visitor's chief actor had not gone home for 8 months, I see the orchard as nothing less than a miracle worker. Oh, and eating was really delicious."

"Visited on November 26, 2023. The restaurant was very busy, and we were happy to wait for our food; however, after an hour, it arrived lukewarm. I spoke with the duty manager, but he refused to ask the kitchen staff to recook it, saying they were too busy. While I understand it was a hectic time, that's no excuse for serving cold food. Additionally, one of the waitstaff, Cara, was quite rude. I didn’t catch the duty manager's name, but we were there from 3:15 PM, which might help identify him. There's simply no excuse for food not being served hot, regardless of how busy it is. We frequently dine at Stonegallows and other Green King locations, and we've never encountered rudeness when needing to voice a concern. No one should have to deal with issues like this when going out to enjoy a meal with friends and family."

"Lovely country pub, friendly landlord and staff, great bunch of locals, reasonably priced drinks, and dog friendly. There's a lovely beer garden too for when the weather improves but there is a good sized undercover patio area."
