"Ramona took our order and frequently checked in on us, always giving us ample time to decide. She was prompt with the check-ins as soon as she understood what we wanted. Just two minutes before closing the kitchen, she asked if we would still like dessert. She also came to inform us when the bar was closing and offered us one last drink. Now, onto the food—it was really delicious! I had a perfectly cooked sirloin steak, just how I like it. My partner ordered turkey, which he thoroughly enjoyed, especially appreciating that it came with an ample and delightful selection of vegetables. Unlike many restaurants that list an array of veggies but serve only a couple of small pieces, here the vegetables were well-prepared and complemented the meal splendidly. My sirloin came with a lovely addition of garlic, tomatoes, and salad—though not as generous as the turkey's accompaniments, it was again perfectly balanced. The baked mushrooms were a tasty treat too, but the dessert truly impressed me. Generally not a dessert person, I found myself loving the brownie with Irish coffee ice cream, and the crème brûlée topped with cherries was simply outstanding, especially with the buttery cookie that beautifully contrasted the sweetness, adding a delightful crunch and a softer flavor. While the prices might be on the higher side, I believe there are good options available for students."

Superb location and the food was delicious. Ramona our waitress was delightful. I had the beef roast dinner and prawn cocktail starter on Father's Day. Excellent value for money 5 stars!

really great place to walk to foot and to lunch or dinner in her dog friendly pub (only bar area). eating is inexpensive and decent quality with a great selection of drinks, not to mention stellar views.

very nice eating. the personal has taken us well. make sure that next time we ask for a table with a view. we were able to move to another area that was great. the minipudding with a drink is a great idea. all in all a nice visit in a clean restaurant.

Wonderful food at an amazing location. The views from on top of the south downs are breathtaking. The staff were helpful and generous with their time despite being busy on a bank holiday weekend. Special thanks to Sally who served us and all who tolerated our dog liking to lay in the everyones way!!

Our first visit to Devil's Dyke was fantastic, and we will definitely be back. Everything was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed mushrooms in garlic and cheese sauce, vegetable curry, and Eton mess—each dish was beautifully prepared. Our server, Sally, was warm and friendly, well-informed, and made excellent recommendations. The weather was also great! Definitely a 5-star experience!

Really lovely pub! Came here with my partner on a reservation but our walk was faster than expected but we still got seated for lunch (an hour early). Served by Sally who was wonderful, food and drinks were fairly priced for size and pleased with the dishes themselves, service was fast and attentive and facilities were clean. Will definitely come back for a pint after a walk again!

The pub has a nice spacious feel to it as the tables are nicely spaced. The menus (both normal and kids) had a good range of options, and the food was yummy. Our server, Sue, managed to make my hangry 9year old smile, and was just the right amount of attentive we didn't feel like we were being hovering over, and we also didn't ever start to feel forgotten about It was a lovely family meal and everyone left happy, even the 9 year old

We had an incredible dining experience with stunning views while enjoying a delicious family meal that we had pre-booked! Our server, Sally, was outstanding and went the extra mile to ensure that our visit was truly memorable. We chose the Devil's Dyke for a special reason: to honor my mum, who had visited this spot 36 years ago with her husband on their motorbike. We all raised a glass in her memory! I have fond memories of sledding down the valley in the winter and searching for newts in the pond, which was a hidden gem only discovered by adventurous explorers many years ago!
