Really lovely staff and food. Unfortunately due to the hot weather and staff shortages, bar service was slower than usual but it was a lovely evening.

Went for a meal with the other arf, nice food and well priced for the quality. Cannot comment on the rooms as stayed elsewhere. Food drinks: Good food,as went only for a meal Service: 5 Location: 4

Lovely Sunday roast. The staff are super lovely and accommodating and the food was tasty. Portions seemed on the small side but were actually perfect with an extra side and pudding. They were packed so definitely book ahead of time.

on the way back from bristol to dinner on speculators. it was very busy (a good sign), but it managed to get a table in the restaurant area. it was well ordered and a nice environment. the menu was good, from pub classics to some other gastro-cube style dishes. we had a rib-eye steak and the glamour of beef-casrole. both were excellent. steak cooked nicely with good pfeffer sauce. beef shiny was melted in mouth tender. the food was also very good for the quality in the offer. service was very polite and efficient. Nothing that does not like will definitely visit again.

great to be back since covid. we had tried to book earlier, but there were no open places. ideally placed and local for our visit. even better, as the new manager only two nights before our arrival with a few employees left who took government leaderships. we were received and felt comfortable, eating was as good as I remember the breakfast. on the bottom, only a few selections on the menu for my coeliac woman to choose, but we were sure that this is to improve and the space in which we were was sufficient if now a little tired. Booked at short notice as very close to the airport and fantastically close to M5 for homeward journey. Lovely greeting from staff showed around by the lovely landlady. Rooms were very comfortable bathroom was just gorgeous and after a week away with only a shower to be greeted by such a sumptuous bath was a blissful way to soak away the long flight . We had a very lovely steak again made welcome by the staff a very positive experience. Breakfast was a help yourself continental style but very adequate. We arrived behind schedule, and were in a hurry to check in and get a taxi to our event. We asked for a number and were given one for a company who no longer works evenings! Had to drive ourselves in the end. When we got back later that evening the pub was in darkness with barely any illumination to see us back to our room. The room itself was very unclean, a covering of dust on every surface. Was like the room hadn’t been used in a while and certainly not cleaned before our arrival. There were spiders and cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom was dirty with mould in the shower. The breakfast was also disappointing. the booking was made to lunch before two or three weeks here, it has much colder, surprised to get a table in the garden space, clearly busy. our table for four was the next door, which serves as the main entrance. the room itself is heated, but the entire meal was pampered by the door opening and closing, worse than the people kept it open, the two of us sat at the end constantly shimmering, not big. as with most places there might have been problems with the personal, as the menu did not include starters. we have all decided to eat, all were very good, especially the bark that is rarely served. everything was well seasoned, cauliflower cheese is an extra that is unusual and for the part qu...
