"Called the restaurant to ask if they did carvery, which they said they did, so booked a table which I was told was the last spot they had. Arrived and the restaurant was basically empty and I can see why. There was no carvery only a set dinner, which came with peas, carrots roast potatoes and mash. If you had the beef option you were allowed a Yorkshire pudding, if you had chicken you were given a single stuffing ball. I asked the waitress if I could both or switch to which she snarked and said it was not possible in a very sarcastic tone and that they had only cooked enough Yorkshire puddings to cover beef dinners. If I was not very hungry I would have left then. The food arrived and it was tiny. Hardly anything on a huge plate. The food itself was tasteless. The chicken was dry, and the gravy was like brown water. The peas were clearly from a microwaveable bag. Overall terrible experience and I will not be returning. I'm shocked at all the positive reviews this restaurant has as it was nothing like other reviews state."

The young bar staff provided excellent service at this restaurant. They were knowledgeable, polite, and accommodating. The pub food was delicious and they were well-versed in their beer selection, recommending lovely choices for dinner. The fact that the place was busy on a Monday was a great sign of a nice evening.
