"A friend and I visited the Hillside for dinner and some drinks on Friday evening. Food was fabulous and they were so accommodating for my friend who is celiac, servers were quick to get us an altered menu explaining what she was able to order. The service was fast and servers were lovely and friendly helping and giving us recommendations. My friend can be quite difficult to take out but they were able to answer any question she threw at them. After our meal we moved to the bar to finish with some drinks and the bar staff were just as friendly as the restaurant staff even with a full bar of customers. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and the live music just topped off a fabulous night for us!"

From service to atmosphere my family enjoyed a brilliant night . Food was amazing. Staff were great nothing was too much trouble . Thank you for an amazing evening.

The food was nice and well cooked however what we ordered was not what was delivered. The mushroom risotto had no mushroom, the pork loin was a pork chop and the prawn cocktail was a pathetic 6 or 7 prawns. There was no atmosphere and the service was rubbish, waited for an hour for our main meal. I would not return. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We had our Christmas dinner at the hillside 16th December, Uniquehair and what a brilliant night it was, the food was 5 star the service 5 star and the entertainment, couldn't fault anything at all. Amazing food! One of the best meals we have had out for a long time. Beautiful fresh fish, lightly battered with minted peas and fresh chips and the burger with onion jam also delicious . Will definitely be back soon! Parking: Pub is located on the main street so parking can be difficult at the weekend but lots of parking a short walk away. Just leave time to get parked and walk to the pub. Food: 5

Great wee spot in Hillsborough. Food was good, service efficient and managed to get a table on a Sunday late afternoon without booking. Dining area at the back is open and more contemporary with a more rustic and cosy bar area at the front with an open fire. Nice and quiet, no trouble hearing conversation, although I would like to experience the live music some time, which I believe is on Wednesday nights. Kids menu was especially good with a decent selection and good portion size. Prices overall were as I would expect, not cheap, but not overly expensive. Will go again. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, although no colouring offered as standard
