"was often in this pub and always had a really great experience, but unusually we went to dinner instead of lunch, on a busy Saturday night and overall it was not as good as in the past. that eating was still excellent, really good. Actually, but we were unusual to be a few while there were more groups of 4 and above. the noise levels were incredible and the service was slow, despite the fact that the person we took as a lead server was literally between the tables. we also asked one of them if they were short-size and surprisingly they said they were not, but that some people were completely new. we had to order drinks more than once. I still think it would be a great place to go, but I would stay for lunch or choose to sit a quieter evening if they have something like that, or even go in a bigger group where they don't notice the delays so much."

this is such a great place for a wonderful meal. beautiful personal, great menu and a beautiful outside surface for warm days and those who want to be in the fresh air. many choices and good for children.

As pub lunches go, mine was pretty average. It's a very pleasant location and the standard of decor and facilities is good. I probably won't bother to return for the food but it's a comfortable place to meet and reasonably priced.

Another amazing lunch at The Plough yesterday. The food was outstanding as always and the staff are so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I really can’t rate this pub highly enough. I travel an hour to get there. I just wish it was closer...to home.

Travelled down to event at Brooklands and booked the Old Plough after reading reviews. The reviews were right great pub. We were only eating there one night to begin with but food was that good we booked second night. Advise booking as gets very busy....Cant fault the place just a shame its 180 miles from home would be in there all the time.

I was there yesterday in the snow at 2.30 a.m. there were 12 of us and we all had a great time. super eating excellent service. it's about my 6 visits and every time I'm not disappointed. what a beautiful way to celebrate my birthday. just a comment, the table was a bit small for 12, but they added a little later to another. they're driving a good ship here! well done at the old plows. cracking place and thanks again.

I managed to book a table for the wrong Friday so promptly turned up with friends to not have a reservation. They couldn't have done more to help out when clearly it was really busy. They gave us a table for an hour or so...in the restaurant and then reserved us a table in the bar area for our desserts. Could easily have told us they were full and that was that. The service was excellent as was the food. What could have been a total disaster turned out to be a really good night. Will definitely return and this time get the booking right.

Met for a 80th birthday celebration meal. Not local but equidistant from homes. This place really stands out from the crowd. Food was amazing. Exceptionally welcoming and excellent, unfussy but incredibly customer focused service. Nine of us and everyone thought that their starter and main...was fantastic! They have a big menu but the kitchen seems to execute every dish perfectly. Wonderful steaks. No problem in having birthday cake as desert. I rarely review. So many places are distinctly average but The Old Plough was a real find. So many amazing staff.
