Fantastic food, lovely cosy environment, happy helpful and friendly staff. Cannot fault this place and will be back soon.

Was recommended The Star by the owner of our accommodation. Fantastic food, and plenty of it. Polite staff, prompt service wouldn't hesitate to go back.

friendly atmosphere and in a quiet hamlet. the reataurant serves good, fresh foods that are generous portions. you have to try the whispers when you're in a position!

Enjoyed a super family meal here last week. We sat upstairs and were served very quickly by a lovely young man who seemed to be waiter and bar man at the same time! The food was excellent. We had a mix of burgers, fajitas and mixed grill. Puddings were really, really good too!

A great place for dinner. The menu was varied and the food was well prepared and delicious. The hardworking staff were friendly and the service was good. A good atmosphere in which to enjoy a leisurely meal. We went on three occasions which speaks volumes on how much we enjoyed it. Wouldn't hesitate to return when in the area.

Phoned to book in advance but when arrived they didn’t have our reservation noted however they quickly arranged a table for us. Extensive menu of homemade food, we could not fault it, every dish was delicious and nicely presented. Our waitress Emma was very pleasant and efficient. The decor is tasteful and the background music Country) helped the atmosphere. We will certainly be back

friendly pub serving delicious food. both meal times we ate here were good, especially steak. like most places, the employees are busy with drinks to tables, so sometimes a waiting time before they can catch the bar staff for more drinks. dogs allowed only in public bar, which is good, like all the locals we talked with were kind, chatting interested in us southern. Music jukebox table in use.

We stopped here on an early Sunday evening looking for something to eat, and boy were we in for a treat! Staff were all so friendly and attentive. They serve a carvery on a Sunday, which was fabulous! Big selection of meats, trimmings, as well as starters and desserts! Lovely meal, in a homely environment. We finished our drinks in the bar downstairs, soaking up the lively atmosphere of the locals enjoying their Sunday evening. What a brilliant little place. We will definitely return if or when staying in the area next time!

Staying at a B&B in the area who recommended our evening meal here. Shown a table upstairs. Very prompt service,drinks and food ordered within 10 mins,which We were pleased about,as a group of 10 then arrived. It then got quite busy upstairs,and as our food came out to our table,3 other tables were filled with customers. We had the haddock and the steak and ale pie. **** gorgeous pie. The beef was so tasty and tender,and lots of. The fish and batter were very well cooked. Big portions so no desserts ordered. Service was very good,food scrumptious, Highly recommend
