"As I live in Buntingford, I was keen to try this restaurant after hearing about its ties and success in London. My girlfriend and I managed to get a table and were excited to try it. The inside is very... intimate. It 's a small location and the tables are close together but not to the point of it being irritating. The service was swift and the menu was very interesting. There 's a lot of granite slabs and wooden boards to eat off which seems to be in vogue these days, but everything is very well thought through. The food was as good as I 've ever eaten and while I 'm not a 'foodie ' I like to think I can appreciate the effort that goes in to dishes. The menu is rather small but I understand it changes regularly which is great as I 'm just as incentivised to return which I plan to do soon."

"Stopped here 1 pm Thursday lunchtime as we were driving past and the car park at the front of this nice looking pub restaurant had plenty of free spaces. We were surprised at the notice on the door saying “No Children” but went inside to the empty restaurant (just one table of 4 occupied). We took a seat and the waitress brought over the lunch menu. The cheapest offering was £14, baked ham, egg and chips or scampi and chips. I ordered a small glass of Sauvignon Blanc and we ordered the ham and scampi. The wine was brought over in a chipped glass (on the base) and the bottle had obviously been opened a few days ago. I didn’t complain at that point but if I had known the price, £7.50, I probably would have. The meals arrived promptly and I noticed immediately there was a problem with my ham. Although hand carved the edges of the two slices were dry and grey. I lifted off the top slice to see the slice underneath was also wet, sticky and grey in the middle. It also smelt “off”. I called the waitress back and said I couldn’t eat the ham for obvious reasons. She took it back and came back almost immediately saying “the chef says there is nothing wrong with the ham, he cooked it this morning, but would you like something else”. I was so taken aback with the response I just said can he do me egg and chips. She returned 5 minutes later with a fresh plate containing the original egg and 6 chips. I said is that the same egg and chips I returned, “yes” was the reply, the Chef has reheated the chips. So, I have in front of me a small, child portion, of stone cold fried egg and refried chips. I was hungry so ate this dismal offering and asked for the bill. Unbelievably I was charged full price for ham, egg, chips. Had to insist the bill was adjusted and it was to £3.50 for a bowl of chips and £2 for my egg. Was told to pay at the bar. At the bar I again said how disappointed I was, especially being served ham in such a condition. At this point another woman, maybe the manager, pulled the waitress aside and said there was nothing wrong with the ham, they cook a fresh ham every day and that I probably don’t know what a fresh baked ham looks like. How insulting can you be. I probably baked my first glazed ham before she was even born. I paid the bill, feeling ripped off and insulted. This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had."

"Going in,the door is sticky...greasy hands maybee or wet paint? when you are in the seating is so crushed you cant breath. trying to squeeze more people in i guess lighting is so bad you cant see even the menu let alone the scribbled unreadable extortionate bill. A handful of frozen veg and a potato with cold rice in a sauce would cost you 75p you cant imagine what they are charging..trying to increase the profit i guess. constantly asked to the point of very annoying ..if everything is ok and do we need any more drinks..which are not cheap.. i used to love this place, its gone down hill fast"

"I recently arranged a special family lunch at The Falcon in Buntingford to celebrate my wife's birthday, and it was truly a fantastic experience. Kieran, the chef, went above and beyond to assist us by providing personalised menu recommendations and ensuring our preferences were met. The restaurant also provided us with a private dining room, allowing us to enjoy our meal in a cozy and intimate setting. The staff members were incredibly friendly, helpful, and engaging, making us feel welcomed and taken care of throughout our visit. The food itself was outstanding, with a diverse range of starters that included delectable options like baked Camembert and whole prawns. The standout dish for me was the beef Wellington, which was prepared to perfection and stands as one of the best I've ever had. To top it all off, the lemon meringue pie we had for dessert was an absolute delight. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Kieran and his amazing team for creating such a memorable and enjoyable birthday lunch."

"Fantastic. Food is of highest quality, chip servings on the large side. I am local, within 5 miles. I got a flyer through the door, which prompted me to call and order, I was told that I should order online, which I was happy to do, unfortunately was not able to do so, as my address was not currently) covered by the websites options. On speaking with a member of staff, this issue was quickly rectified, so excellent service. Delivery time was absolutely excellent, very prompt... ...I didn't have to pay a delivery charge as there was no option for this at the online checkout, though I did reccommend that this would need to be updated on the website. I highly reccommend. Jem Wand."
