Overall meal was OK.. I had beefburger and chips..the chips were excellent although a small portion ,burger average and for£18.95 expensive had to wait along time for our drinks which came in dribs and drabs.. serving staff were pleasant and friendly Service: 3 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Quiet

The White Buck is always a delightful place to visit. We enjoy walking to Burley through the Forest, and this restaurant is the perfect spot to take a break for coffee or lunch before resuming our walk. The coffee and food are both excellent, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend. Service: 5 Location: 5

Updated review. January 2024: Hugely disappointed returned for birthday celebrations and was shocked at how far this pub has fallen. Waited over 1.5hrs for mains which were poor quality and the prices were extortionate for the portions served. May 2023: Delicious food, a great pub during our walk. Went with a group of friends and all agreed this was excellent great quality and variety of food, drinks and customer service was superb, I’ll definitely be returning

Stayed for one night. Lovely hotel, really nice decor and room superb with complimentary drinks when arrived. Location is great and staff were attentive and friendly. The only thing that lets it down and would deter us from revisiting is the food. Evening meal was mediocre and very small portions for the price. Very limited menu and sketchy information for food alllergies which is a big problem for myself. Breakfast was very overcooked and poor quality sausages. Coffee Luke warm and gluten free bread awful. Such a shame

I visited this restaurant for my birthday today. The food was good, but the service was the worst I've ever experienced. Our waitress snapped at one of my grandparents for asking about the stuffing and pigs in blankets that were missing from the roast, which most of us had already finished. When we received the bill, we realized that those two items were priced at £25. Additionally, we never received the cauliflower. It's a shame because the food was actually quite good. I hope the waitress is okay, as no one should have that much hostility for no reason.

We went for an afternoon lunch today. We ordered the cheese and pickle sandwich I have never paid for such awful food. The bread was stale and the cheese was grated cheddar that was so dry it was obviously pre grated and there was so little of it didn’t even cover the surface of the bread. There was a slab of pickle and some random onions. My partner had the falafel wrap and that was so bad it’s not even worth my time explaining why so bad. Absolute day light robbery. So disappointed as this used to be a good pub stop for a walk. Our drinks came in filthy, stained and scratched glasses and the coke was nearly flat. How u can take peoples money for food this bad I have no idea. You’re literal...
