This is the fourth time we have been to Umberto's and every time it is sensational! From the food (pasta today , to the charismatic waiters, to the ambience (the pictures are great! , everything is unique and wonderful. Excellent and varied cuisine for celiacs. Prices quite high, slightly above average. Understandable though, as we are near via Chiaia. Very friendly staff, the chocolates given away at the end of the dinner were much appreciated. Food was really great, and the staff was really helpful and great! We had reservations but had just flown in from out of country so had to do the take out option unfortunately. Our hotel was walking distance from the restaurant, and it's in a really safe area of town. Would have loved to dine in, as the restaurant itself has such a great authentic Italian feel. Non posso dire che il cibo sia eccellente, nulla di speciale. Quello che è veramente terribile è l'accoglienza da parte della proprietaria arrogante e presuntuosa. Siamo entrati con il cane e quest'ultimo ha iniziato a abbaiare a causa del campanello; la signora mi ha parlato con grande scortesia... avrebbe potuto dire prima di ordinare che non le piaceva la presenza del cane, invece di... Che cosa sarebbe successo se fosse stato un bambino che piangeva???? Non metterò più piede lì. Cibo: 2

Making Chiaia my home base for 2 nights in Naples, I looked for an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant I could walk to from the Grand Hotel Parker’s. After some quick searching, I found Umberto. Certainly this is a ‘locals’ place, so I was pleased by my greeting and our welcome by the staff as I was appreciative for the acceptance. Umberto definitely lives up to their Neapolitan pizza certification. I’m a big pizza snob, and I’m glad I spent a night dining in environs perfecting the pizza invented in Naples. Visualizza piatti
