"I can't understand how anyone could give this cafe a 2-star review. My family has been coming to Samuel's Kitchen almost every week for the past 6 years. Either our taste buds are off, or the negative reviews are from people trying to tarnish the reputation of a great cafe. Today, while enjoying our lunch, we overheard a worker being told by his friend that ordering a LARGE pork sandwich might be a challenge. 15 minutes later, he asked for a bag to take half of it home. The portions are generous and we have always had delicious food and good value here. If you don't like it, go somewhere else and let the regulars and newcomers enjoy their meals."

"Have been visiting the Wortley Arms on and off for quite a long time, but hadn't visited for about 3 years for various reasons until a recent unexpected visit. Not sure why we hadn't visited for a while (aside from kids/dogs and probably lockdown), but our recent couple of lunches were excellent. The restaurant seems to be continuing and developing its legacy of producing a high quality menu that caters for many tastes and wallets, ranging from it's excellent sandwich range and pub classics, to high quality and imaginative contemporary and classic style restaurant dishes. Excellent beers and wines, and consistently lovely service as well. Pleased to see the restaurant has progressed to what seems like new management without losing the ethos of the place, and will definitely be back more regularly as this is one of the most pleasant and consistently good places to eat for any occasion."

"This pub serves excellent food. The hand-cut chips are particularly good. On my second visit, I tried the fish and chips, steak and kidney pie, scampi, and fajitas, and all were delicious and cooked perfectly. The only downside is that the plates were not very hot, unless you order a sizzler. Despite this, I still rate the food as excellent. It is also good value for money. The location is convenient for meeting up as it is close to the M1. The average price per person is £70-80."

"Great little place, with good food and a chilled atmosphere, staff and people were friendly, was it worth it? So 2 kids, 2 adults, £45, but when you consider we had 3 bowls of chips, with dips, 4 drinks and 4 generous portions of cake each, I'd say absolutely! Better than a Starbucks any day. I feel we should shift our perception from thinking an evening meal should be the most expensive meal, and that anything relaxed, safe for kids and an enjoyable experience is definitively worth a trip out. Finally, the Christmas decor was fab, and I did enjoy taking photos of the decorations, ducks and geese."
