Visiting from Long Island, NY....Great atmosphere....Delicious food. Table of 10 and so relaxing and a real TASTE of Culture. Highly recommend should not miss!

We were greeted promptly by the host who patiently explained the menu. Much time was spent ensuring we may the right selection, and everything was indeed delicious. Salads were very fresh and all entrees were cooked to perfection. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

Our group from the U.S was brought here by a local family to enjoy some schnitzel. We would never have found such an authentic place on our own. The service was warm and welcoming, the food delicious and plentiful and the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. The owner came out to welcome us to Germany. It was a wonderful place to start our tour of Germany!

We went on tour to Heidelberg and ended up here because we heard the schnitzel was good from locals and they were absolutely right! We got all sorts and everyone was happy. My three kids loved it too. The one who didn't eat schnitzel ate a lamb burger and enjoyed it a lot. It was great value and affordable. Service was solid, it was convenient and easy, we loved sitting outdoors, and the drinks were flowing. We are definitely going back whenever near Heidelberg!

After living in Heidelberg off and on for 10 years with the US Army, I thought I knew most of the good places to eat. But I just found another gem. It is the Weisser Stein in Handschuheim. The prices, especially the Monday Schnitzel Day, were very competitive but the real find was the quality of the food and location. It is one street off the main street of Handschuheim in a quiet residential neighborhood with lovely hidden inner courtyard. The crowing jewel was Patrick the owner. He took time for a nice conversation that made us feel like locals.

If you are in Heidelberg and are interested in going a few minutes off the beaten path, look no further than Weisser Stein - a terrific local cozy German neighborhood restaurant with a terrific menu. It's all served up by Patrick who owns the place and will help with any English translations. He made our family of six (inc four kids) feel welcome and recommended some great food. All the plates were clean when we left! And the prices were some of the most reasonable we have seen for a family restaurant. We were recommended by tripadvisor, is separated from the tourist areas and was very quiet.
