"Our first visit to the Primrose Tea Rooms in this beautiful village, full of thatched cottages. We wandered round the pretty garden first of all, but decided to sample something from the menu, inside. We chose to eat an egg mayonnaise sandwich with bacon, and were amazed when it arrived. The accompanying salad contained at least twelve different items of fruit, veg, and salads. It was delicious. The lady who served our food , and coffee was so friendly, and was willing to chat to us about the cafe, food, and the village in general, and we all enjoyed our visit."

"Really nice location to go for a walk, there were 3 pre signposted routes of various length of you could go your own way. Plenty of trails to explore and streams for young ones and dogs to play in. Plenty of paths through the woods and also some through fields. Some step climbing depending on which path you choose and also a challenging but fun parkrun on Saturday mornings. Only criticism was the car park was very full the mid week morning we visited but we did eventually get a space. Also has a cafe and toilets near the car park."

"Having visited the old pottery restaurant for lunch many times as a child,as did my partner , we were excited to visit today for a child free breakfast. The combination of happy memories of delicious food for when we were children and the expensive price of the food, we were very excited. The excitement very quickly wore off when we were faced with our meal. £14.50 for a “big breakfast” which in my opinion is a standard. Ketchup so watering, I think you’d find better quality for the dirtiest food truck in the back of a dark alley. I don’t want to be a complete misery guts, the black pudding was delicious. However, the rest of the meal was extremely salty. Now, when you order breakfast you get orange juice and unlimited tea or coffee included, so the food being salty shouldn’t be a problem seeming your given the opportunity to have plenty of fluids (probably why it’s included). BUT, you’re given enough orange juice to wet about half your pallet and the coffee was a complete disappointment leaving you not even wanting finish a cup."

"idyllic pub, in an idyllic village, at the rande of the idyllic dartmoors. I wish it was my local. last week had lunch here in the pretty beer garden on a magnificent september day. calamari was incredible, I could have dumped her until they came out of mine! Pan-fried venison haunch with red wine and jus jus was also an absolute triumph. the dogs get in the usually a weed-tedbit, but that was just too tasty, so I tasted it all up to the beats of the beats. I was a little surprised to tell them the truth about how good that was eating, as I think I am so used to publishing food that is quite disappointing and uninspired. but that was an unforgettable lunch that was all washed down with a few cold Tarka beds in the sunshine. what a great day it was!"

"We had a disappointing experience at the restaurant on my wife's birthday. Although we asked for white bread, we were given brown instead. We also specifically requested no peas, but they still appeared on our plates. When we asked for more drinks, the waitress vanished and never returned. Our daughter asked for ketchup, which never arrived. The waitress dropped my knife and promised to bring a new one, but that never happened either. In the end, we decided to forego dessert and gave up on trying to get another drink. While the food was acceptable, the service was appalling. It's a shame, as it's just down the road from where we live."
