"Very disappointed and will NEVER be returning. Used to class here as my local however after todays experience I will never be returning. Firstly I ordered a beef and gravy sandwich to be told they haven’t got sandwiches on today and we were asked had anyone informed us of this which they hadn’t. Secondly when my boyfriend went to place his order the waitress had decided to leave the table. I then had no choice but to order the gammon which I asked to have fries with. My partner ordered pork loin and they did not ask what he would like with that I.e mash chips potatoes. No longer having placed our order I heard someone else place an order at the bar asking for a sandwich and to be told that’s fine. Then the waitress came over to our table to be told they had no mash to go with the pork but we never had an option. Anyways when my meal came out the waitress asked who’s the steak and veg were baring in mind she was holding gammon (she hadn’t a clue) what she was handing out and it came with homemade chips which I did not request as I requested fries. The fries then came out soaking with grease and tasted heavily like grease too the pot they were served in also had a pool of grease at the bottom.Disappointed"

"A total gem indeed! We visited after seeing the highly rated reviews whilst travelling passed Newcastle and needing some lunch. We had two fabulous burgers which were cooked perfectly an a very generous portion. Alongside two drinks, these meals cost a total off £24. Amazing value! We also took some cakes out and these were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place had a great atmosphere. Highly recommend and will certainly return if in the area."

"We love it here and come here often. My son loves the ice creams so much. The seating area for kids is lovely and separate from the rest of the seating, and it feels relaxed there. It can be very hot in the kids area on a hot day due to all the windows, but there’s lots of seating outside. The toys do often need updating/a clean but there’s a mix of bits there for the kids. More would definitely encourage more visitors though! The outdoor area has a slide and a swing and it’s beautiful. Lovely for the kids to see the animals and the view is stunning. The staff are always polite and helpful, we have visited countless times and I have never had anything but positive interactions with the staff. You can purchase drinks etc here to consume at canny crafty which is handy. They do serve sorbets but their menu in general is a bit limited for some dietary restrictions. We had some vegan friends who really struggled to choose a lunch that they would enjoy. We had paninis which were vegetarian which we enjoyed. I do wish they did a child’s portion of beans on toast, but we don’t really mind ordering the big one (it’s huge! . The milk isn’t pasterised but they do sign post this, so anyone with a weakened immune system/pregnant etc will be made aware. We love wheelbirks and think it’s a great, chilled day out. There’s some nice gifts in the shop too."

"This is a fantastic pub with a great ambiance. The interior is exceptionally well-designed, featuring beams and exposed brickwork. When we arrived, there was a vast selection of food, making it tough to decide what to order! We made excellent choices, as every dish was superb with generous portions that weren't overwhelming. The Guinness was also perfectly poured. They do have a children's menu, but you'll need to ask for it. It was quite busy during the week, so I recommend making a reservation. We double-checked the bill because it felt surprisingly low for the quality of food we received, but it was accurate—under £60 for three drinks, three main courses (including one from the children's menu), and starters. Overall, it's excellent value for outstanding quality."

"Food was fantastic, garlic with cheese naan was not on the menu, but they served it up for me on request. Unlike most Indian restaurants the desert menu was extensive, my choice of ice cream based vanilla toffee was outstanding at just £4. They let us stay past closing, served us a complimentary Sambuca each. The hot towels were a really nice touch value for money was outstanding, given the cost of living crisis. Toilets were well maintained clean, the only stars I've withdrawn were for atmosphere, nothing to do with the staff, a family run business, it was just a bit quiet when we went at nearly 10PM on a Friday night, but I was delighted we got a table after watching the Chelsa game, so hats off to this restaurant, fabulous food at 2019 prices, with incredibly friendly but unobtrusive staff. An easy 5 stars one of the best Indian restaurants I've experienced in any country."
