"Thought we would try it as local to where we live, on entering the pub was quite and no atmosphere and the staff where obviously busy not . Went to the bar and asked for 2 drinks a Carling came in the incorrect glass and a coffee, the Carling was ok but had a strange after taste, the coffee was in a glass which my partner found difficult to hold as having nails on like most women. We ordered Scampi beer battered Fish n Chips. The Scampi was ok but obviously bought in and the Fish was tasteless and had no texture at all. The chips on both dishes where obviously frozen and dipped in a fryer with no example of trying to cook from fresh. The meal it self was not great and would not go back again. On the website it says Chef has 20 years experience but in my opinion they need to get another 20 years as had better food at a holiday camp site than at a pub who makes out it is quality cooking. On a whole Chef stop walking around in your whites obviously bought on Ebay and learn how to serve proper pub food and as for the cost, not seeing that back in the account again over priced ****"

Lovely lunch with great service and excellent choice of drinks. Love that we can take our dog in one part of the bar. Everywhere was extremely clean.

We had a wonderful Sunday dinner at this restaurant, where meals were served on plates instead of a buffet. The food was served hot, with the vegetables in separate dishes along with gravy. We also tried the vegetarian option, which was a delicious sweet potato and mushroom pie.

I had a quick lunch with a couple of coworkers who were visiting me and unfamiliar with the area. I chose the Harvey Arms for lunch and we were all very pleased with our choices. Two of us had a brie baguette and the other had a sausage baguette, both of which were delicious and came with a side salad and garnish. At £9 each, it was a good price. Thank you to the chef for a great meal.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch here with family. However was really disappointed to discover that there is no disabled access. We struggled to gey up the steps with a person using a wheelchair. I was told that the brewery would not allow them to have a ramp to allow such access which, in is very disappointing and does nothing to promote inclusively for all members of the public. I cannot recommend for this reason if any member of a party has mobility issues

I made a reservation for this restaurant in advance, and we were promptly seated upon arrival. We ordered drinks right away. We decided to try their Sunday lunch specials - I ordered the large lamb dish for £13 and my husband chose the trio of meats for only £14, which included lamb, beef, and turkey. Our meals arrived within 5 minutes, along with a bowl of vegetables for each of us. We were pleasantly surprised with the two Yorkshire puddings that accompanied our meal - they were delicious. Popped in on the off chance for tea on a Thursday evening. Wasn’t overly busy but a few tables in so atmosphere was fine. Friendly staff. In current climate it’s understandable that midweek there’s few places that will be mega busy. Husband ordered the Cajun chicken rib combo, I had a bbq chicken special. Food was really good… not microwaved frozen food as mentioned in the previous review. It was cooked to perfection and I’m really chicken fussy! It was stuffed with a baby pepper and cream cheese…. Delicious!! Haven’t left a review before cos I’m rubbish at remembering to but having had a few meals here the chicken supreme which is often on the special board being one of my usual favourites)...

Came here for a family birthday and unfortunately it was really disappointing. The lady behind the bar was probably the best thing about the experience. She was really nice and had good waitress skills. We ordered steak pie (it was soo salty and the gravy was solid the pastry on the pie was rock hard and looked quite old) 3/10 vegetable curry (raw peppers/ onions and mushrooms really spicy and awful) 1/10 luckily sent it back and replaced with scampi. steak burger (my son said it was really chewy quite tasteless chips were also not crispy but weirdly overcooked) 5/10 light cod bites (best of a bad lot really same overcooked tasteless chips) 7/10 The bill came to £70 including some drinks. "The welcome we received was pleasant, although not very personal, and our details were not checked, which was surprising considering how difficult it was to secure a reservation. The restaurant is not licensed, so guests are welcome to bring their own drinks. My husband and I brought two bottles of champagne, but we were not offered an ice bucket and were given standard wine glasses instead of flutes. The food was served promptly, starting with an amuse bouche of butternut squash veloute with a creamy accompaniment served in egg boxes. The chef explained the dish himself, and it was delicious. The second course, an aged rice dish reminiscent of a soupy risotto flavored with parmesan and espresso, was my least favorite. I found it poorly presented and the coffee flavor didn't come through well. The third course, a beautifully cooked lamb cutlet finished on a barbecue outside, was accompanied by flavorful lentils. However, the broccoli that came with it was plain and could have used some additional flavor. The dish was not explained to us. The fourth dish, which I initially thought was eel, turned out to be smoked eel and was served with beetroot. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. We were served two desserts: a warm chocolate foam with orange sorbet and a deconstructed rhubarb custard with pink meringue pieces, both of which were delicious. The bill was not presented to us, so we followed the lead of other guests who left cash on the table as they left. My husband had a nice chat with the chef, and I joined in after a visit to the restroom. The chef was very knowledgeable and skilled with flavors. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of personality in presenting and explaining each dish. The experience felt somewhat impersonal and lacked interest. I believe guest interaction is crucial, so my tip would be for the restaurant to take the time to engage with guests, even if it means spending less time in the kitchen. I did not give a perfect score due to the presentation and slightly underwhelming flavors in some dishes. I believe that in fine dining, every element of the dish should be bursting with flavor. Despite this, we had an enjoyable evening and would return if we are able to secure a reservation."
