La Vieille Maison - Menu

Eze beach is fabulous. Clear water, no crowds, shady in the late afternoon and two mins from the train station. Pop in here for their Plat du Jour or they will even knock you up a sandwich to take on the beach with you. What's not to like ?

We were a group of 6 and we arrived before the opening hours for dinner (without reservation), but the chef was kind enough to prepare us pasta and salad dishes. We chose Tagliatelles Carbonara and it was good. The price was 12 EUR. Very good value for money.

This a nice place by the beach (there is NO view to the sea) on Villefranche. The food is very good with big, big servings (the sandwiches are for 2 people easily). I recommend the tagliatelle carbonara. Attention only to the fact that although they stay open throughout the day, during the afternoon they only serve 2 types of pasta, salads and sandwiches.

I am not a big fun of fancy restaurants! Ofcause where are a lot of them in that part of France! But that small restaurant near by the rout has also a nice view! Simple but very lovely cousine! All dishes are fresh! If you want just simple evening with good food and lovely service, go here! It's not fancy! And portions are not small! And ofcause its tasty! Funny, but where are not many russian people)))

On arrival we asked for a table. We thought it would be on the roadside but we were asked if we wanted to sit on the upstairs terrace. The upstairs terrace has a fantastic view of the bay and an even better view for super car spotting on the road. The food was excellent. We both had the mussels from the specials board, when they arrived, we have never seen such a huge portion before. Reasonably priced. Very friendly staff.

Staying in Eze and often go for aperitifs! Staff very friendly and efficient.Decided to eat there one evening and we could hardly finish the huge portions of moules and lamb shank, both with sautéed potatoes. Finished off with the best cafe gourmand I have ever eaten! Reasonably priced as we had the specials etc but much cheaper items on the menu which we plan to try!Make sure you eat upstairs on the terrace as great views across the bay!!Food delicious! Restaurant not to be missed if you are in the area. Closed Sunday I believe (maybe just the evening)!!

So, I was impressed with the reviews and truth to tell this modest looking restaurant really delivered. I was hankering for pasta and had the lasagne maison that comes with a salad and it was perfectly served and absolutely delicious. Servings were generous and the service lovely. I made a mistake of ordering a cafe gourmand as it was very substantial and probably would be best shared. But very good. Would I go back? Yes, and I intend to tomorrow as the lunch menu looks great. Don't miss this place and make sure you sit on the terrace and enjoy the sea view.

I had lunch in a Saturday so we could only order "a la carte".I was quite disappointed considering the pretty good ratings. The food was basic to me although the service was very friendly.I had carbonara pastas and it was served with basic Emmental cheese, not Parmesan which is a mistake in itself and the egg was not put on top but already mixed. Considering that it a basic recipe I can only be disappointed. Other guests had salade niçoise, nothing very elaborated neither. Also the terrace is literally on the road side and hence quite noisy. Inside was much better with modern amenities.

We stopped for lunch and started with entrée’s of oeuf with mayonnaise (best of the trip), a tomato salad, & a salad Nicoise. Very generous portions, all of which were very good. I had the plat du jour, which was an odd combination of many things, but each element of the dish was very tasty. It was roast beef, cornichon’s, olives, tabbouleh, potato salad, & pasta salad. My friend had the cod with a tian, tomate Provençale & frites, she said it was sensational! My boyfriend had the Milanese, with frites which he enjoyed as well. They are also a popular take out restaurant as many people walked out with prepared hot sandwiches to take away. The service is wonderful & friendly.
