"In the lovely Jewish area of Berlin, near the beautiful Sinagogue, in Auguststraße, a nice street full of great art galleries, coffee shops, cosy restaurants and little bistros, we found this tiny, quaint Italian restaurant and deli shop, where you can find also good wines...from Italy and products from the Southern Italy Lucania region. There is only a very limited number of tables inside, but when the weather is good, like in summer, you can can seat outside. We were not particularly happy about their 'caponata ', a Sicilian/Neapoltitan eggplant dish (a cooked vegetable salad made from chopped fried eggplant, peppers, potatoes and tomatoes), too dry and sour for our taste, but the mozzarella was fresh and tasty and so were the ricotta and cheese raviolis. The house wine was OK. The service was a little slow, but friendly. Prices were a little high. Overall, a good experience."

This place is all about cozy and relaxed evening out with fine cheese, cold cut and of course wine. The staff is friendly and the service is quite quick. Highly recommended.

Nice, cosy wine bar with friendly service. Tiramisu is one of the best I've tasted. Tried mozzarella with pesto and tomatoes and carpaccio and those where good as well. House wine though was not...

Our servers were rather unfriendly and the food took forever to get there. We had a variety of pasta, octopus (huge portion), fish and vegetarian dishes. Not fantastic and it was quite expensive. Doubt I would try it again.

Recommend this place and arrived and it was packed. They gave us the English menu which only had main courses on. We went for the menu on the table. Grande mozzarella with both of the extras meats and tomatoes. House wine was good. No one...speaks English. Total bill 50 euros for 2 of us. We are totally full amazing meal. Can’t recommend enough.

We came here because we absolutely love fresh mozzarella, from our recent Italy trip. It was very busy over lunch. They don't have an English menu, and really can't accommodate you if you don't speak German- heads up. We ordered their house red wine. It's very lite. We also got the mozzarella with prosciutto. A wonderful causy small real Italian Restaurant with excellent food. The mozzarella come from italy and transformed by road so that the cheese is not deformed. I respect them in that sense. Their menu is very tight and changes but they are focused in perfection....Impossible to fond a place during peek times in summer due to hugh demand in peek times. Book in advance and enjoy the food and wine. Locationwise its located at old Mitte district which i enjoy everytime i visit.

An unexpected visit to the coast of Sicily - and smack dab in the middle of Mitte. The food is genuinely Italian - cooked and served by Italians who know what they are doing. The melanzano caponata is a culinary experience sans pareil - and the house wine is better than in most Italian places. The location (go outside in the sun) is superb for people watching - and the locals will NOT disappoint! The service is smart and knowledgeable and the pricing is most reasonable for the high quality of the food. I rate it among the most pleasurable places to have a meal in Berlin. It's the type of restaurants you tell your friends about.
