"Amazing food , fine dining , easy to find , glass of champagne was really lovely and despite being offered wine list before seeing the food choice , staff were helpful and attentive . Delectable canapés were served with drinks which were so flavoursome and then the amuse bouchée was a riot of flavour see photos for what they were we ate al la crate and the crab tarte and venison tartare were spot on . Mains of lamb medium and so tender and broccoli textures followed and were also high quality . Dessert was sublime choux pastry with peanut butter ice cream and carrot cake kind of deconstructed was followed by Egyptian mint tea and beautiful petit fours we were suitably stuffed and our waitress suggested we could take them home of this was the case ! For the food we ate , texture , quality , presentation this was fantastic and reasonably priced . My only gripe would be the music did not fit with the experience of the food playlist did not fit the ambiance."

"spicy garlauchbrot is incredible (full green chili) that was perfect for us the gamberoni fritti made us a perfect starter, but the manzo cacciatore was certainly not made with filet steak. it is always a shame when the quality of the ingredients. are not as described that this court was one of them. we had both the main dish manzo cacciarore fillet steak pieces, although very nice was not fillet steak pieces. I mention this because this was our only problem that I am a metzger that is all my life long, I know how I say, though very nice, it should be sold as it is. the service staff was very good in a very lively restaurant. I mentioned my problems to our young server, but no answer from the administration wanted to cause no scene."

"We called to let them know we were running late on Friday night and checked TripAdvisor for somewhere with good reviews. After booking online, we were greeted warmly upon our arrival. The room was very clean and beautifully furnished to a high standard. We were in need of food, and the menu offered a wide range of options. We started with garlic mushrooms and crab as appetizers, followed by a pasta dish with chorizo in a creamy sauce. For dessert, we had lemon cheesecake with orange, which was some of the best I've had in a long time. I was truly impressed; the quality of the food felt Michelin-star level but at pub prices! The breakfast was fantastic as well. Will we be returning to the Greyhound? Absolutely, 100%! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention their great selection of gins too."

"We visited on Thursday evening to celebrate my birthday, and from the moment we entered, we were truly impressed. The ambiance was beautiful, with rose petals scattered everywhere and a lovely smoky aroma that welcomed us. Our meal was simply stunning! The starter arrived with flames on the plate, and our curry was nothing short of perfection. James and the other waiter, who was from Nepal, provided exceptional service. They were very friendly and kept us updated on the timing between courses. They even took the time to chat and share some laughs with us. Although we can be a bit restless, there wasn't a single thing that we felt was lacking. The prices were also quite reasonable. We can't wait to return in the future!"

"We utilised the Fishpond a couple of times last week for a beer during our stay in Matlock Bath or should I say Southend not on Sea , firstly when we arrived on the Wednesday evening when it was fairly quiet but still the busiest of the pubs in town the Rose Cottage was completely dead and the Midland wasn’t even open , and then again on Saturday evening when , like the rest of Matlock Bath, it was completely mental until the day tripping tourist families and bikers headed home leaving it to the hardcore locals and us tourists staying in town. Nice two room pub with a main bar and snug room to the side didn’t venture up to the music room but when the sun is out the best spot is the outside terrace to the front from where you can watch all the action. Six handpumps with three ales and three ciders for my visits and the ales were Abbeydale Splendour, Whim Ales Hartington Bitter and Shiny Brewery MIA hazy pale ale. Tried the first two and they were both well kept. We were very glad that this pub was here as it circumvented the need for us to take the bus or train into Matlock for an evening beer."
