Booked a table here for my good ladies birthday. We were both very impressed. Food was clearly home cooked it was excellent. Staff were very friendly efficient. Thank you!

Food was absolutely delicious. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. We sat outside to eat our lunch and the views were lovely, just a shame it was a windy day. We will definitely be back!

This is a lovely pub, very friendly and in a great location on the river. We had a roast which was spot on, made to feel very welcome and the staff were very attentive. Won't hesitate to go back

What a super duper family-friendly pub to to have a relaxing drink or eat out in. Great food at reasonable prices and lovely helpful staff. Modern decor and well set out tables and rooms for guests to enjoy a meal. Ample parking and B&B available at this riverside gem.

What a lovely pub. I stayed over for two nights on a little trip to see a friend and do some fishing. The pub was warm and has a lovely wood burner, it is very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal and morning breakfast were excellent. Even the coffee was great. Lived fairly local for many years but never been. We called in on lunch time we hadn't made a reservation but were able to sit in or outside. It was extremely busy and even caught the staff off guard how busy it was too. The atmosphere was lovely and lovely surroundings. We were told we would have a long wait for food, but with the good selection of drinks available. (thank you for a decent 0% gin) we were happy to wait. Menu cators for every one vegan vegetarian and meat eaters, and a good options . Food served hot and good portions a nd the steak was delicious. The service was excellent and friendly. The Heron, alongside the River Great Ouse, is a delightful pub/restaurant. Although it retains the character of a much older establishment, it has been tastefully renovated making it welcoming and comfortable. The menu has many tempting starters, mains and deserts, and from the illustrations, the chef certainly understands the importance of presentation. As we were not looking for a full meal, my wife and I skipped the starters and went for fish and chips. Two portions available, my wife chose the smaller whilst I selected the larger. I had dinner here last night with two friends and we were all so impressed!!!! The meal was fantastic; I had the ribeye and it was absolutely delicious and my friend had the most enormous, tasty homemade steak and ale pie. We were blown away by the portion sizes and overall quality of the food. A wonderful, relaxed and cosy setting with plenty of atmosphere. This was our first visit to The Heron but we will be back whenever we visit friends in the area. It is very clear to see how passionate Tracey is about her business; we had such amazingly friendly, attentive service. We were looking for somewhere that was open on a Tuesday lunchtime for a new year dinner with family and plumped for the Heron as it was one of the few open on this day. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt as we did arrive as one of their first guests after reopening this year but the service, while friendly, was quite slow after ordering. They had a nice fire going which we appreciated coming in from the cold and wet weather outside. In better weather the outside beer garden would have been a good place to sit and eat.
