"This was the perfect ending to an amazing day in the Highlands. After a 10-minute drive from our hike up Devil's Staircase, we arrived at the restaurant feeling a bit wet, exhausted, and parched in the early afternoon. It turned out to be a wonderful place to refuel and recharge! I opted for one of the daily specials: a steak pie paired with a beer, and it was just what I needed. Some members of our group enjoyed a delicious tomato basil soup, while others went for hamburgers or chicken. We also shared a sticky toffee pudding, which was possibly the best version of this classic dessert we encountered during our travels in Scotland (and we tried quite a few!). If the restaurant is busy when you arrive and your group is all over 18, you can head around to the entrance of Boots, a large bar that connects to the restaurant. You’ll place your order at the bar, providing your table number, and they will deliver your food. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy a satisfying meal after a day of hiking!"

"We were staying for two nights in Ballachulish heard this was the place to go, our B B booked us in. The staff who were mostly young people were excellent the food too was excellent. We booked returned the following night where the service food was equally as good. Considering restaurant prices have increased of late they were very reasonable in price a must to go if you are in Ballachulish"

"Ordered a fish supper. It was fantastic! The only reason I'm giving 4-stars and not 5 is because it was quite expensive for the portion size. One piece of fish and a modest portion of chips was £10.50 as they also charge for sauce. I live in Edinburgh and the chippy I order from gives two pieces of fish and a huge portion of chips with a fish supper and it only costs £7.50. So, for price and portion size, I give a 4/5."

"Bad experience. Queuing system for orders unclear. Someone pushed in before us and then lied to justify. After waiting some time, couple before us had just asked if order at table or order first. We were only others in queue and said we'd got table, then queued. Just them and us in queue then! Earlier I had queued to side of them but moved behind, as found in way of those leaving from cafe, so stood immediately behind although in gift shop area which close to till. When came to our turn, someone pushed in. When I said we were next, they made a fuss, saying they had been there all along (when standing where I had been earlier). They were believed and I wasn't. This was very unpleasant, especially due to what man said. While in queue, I had also seen them walk towards order point, although hadn’t given it any attention. They had pushed in, perhaps unwittingly, but then insisted they were next and made false claims to justify. We left as the queue jumpers insisted they were right and were believed by those serving. Difficult situation for those running cafe. It partly arose due to lack of space to queue for placing orders (gift shelves too close to order/paying point, leaving little room to queue) and lack of clarity on how to order, with no welcome or guidance given. Shame as we’d had a nice day till then and had to leave to find tea and cake etc and a welcome elsewhere."

"Have visited Clachaig for many years and have always highly recommended, Waiting staff Angela in breakfast restaurant is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Sadly breakfast not to its usual high standard no cereal or fresh fruit available. Booked with Annmarie receptionist again extremely helpful and friendly, sadly cannot say the same about Veronica receptionist , very abrupt not helpful or friendly in anyway. Despite for her unfriendliness it will not deter us for our usual yearly visit. Annmarie and Angela’s welcome and friendliness is so appreciated."
