"So disappointing. We have been eating here for over 3 years on our frequent visits to the area. Always had fantastic food and service until tonight. Our table (pre booked) was already laid but dirty with coffee/tea rings, the waitress cleaned it only when she brought the menus. We ordered Onion Rings as an appetiser, the bowl was put on the table and the waitress swiftly disappeared, no cutlery or plates were supplied, they were so hot that they burnt our lips and tongue, we were not warned about the intense heat. I was then given my “main course” a tiny portion of lasagna, a tiny salad and 2 pieces of garlic bread, this wasn’t even a child’s portion and was being charged at around £17! We complained, the lasagna was taken off the bill in order to encourage us to return, this clearly seemed to have resolved the issue for the staff but I really don’t think they have any intention of acting on our complaints. I can now see from the reviews that others have had similar issues over the summer. So, Chris, please do not respond with an “apology” as you have to others, take action and change things, show you are listening or you won’t have a business."

The Sunday lunch we had was definitely the best we've ever experienced. It was plentiful and incredibly delicious! The staff was friendly and the wait was only 15 minutes. Couldn't find any faults with it.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at this restaurant. This was our second visit, and once again we were impressed by the friendly and attentive staff, the pleasant atmosphere, and the delicious food. The dishes were flavorful, well-prepared, and there was a great variety to choose from. We even got a takeaway lunch to enjoy at home, and it was just as good as dining in. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Absolute hidden gem. We live in Wolfscastle and can’t believe it’s taken us so long to give the new owners a try. The food, the service the atmosphere all 10/10 and the best Ribeye Steak I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection. Special thank you to the two girls serving us you really made our family night a special one. None of our requests were too much and everything was obliged with a smile. We will certainly be back and are proud to now call this our local.

Lovely hot food as to be expected, so be prepared to blow on it so as not to burn your mouth, Sat at a table that had just left, but was cleaned in reasonable time and spotless, We have a child with learning disabilities and when her food came out the mash was hot, but she waited patiently and blew on it before eating, The staff were amazingly patient with her when she was explaining what she would like to order (approximately 5 minutes) Overall I thought this venue was excellent and the food and the staff were great I would recommend to anyone Other than people who like to complain for every reason under the sun to duck the bill

Just had the best Sunday Roast ever! Could not fault The Wolfe Inn, from the excellent customer service and sublime food. Top quality food, we had Roast Turkey and it was like butter, delicious stuffing and was served with 5 bowls of assorted veg, and we had superb creamy mash, crispy roast potatoes and roaster parsnips topped with top notch gravy! You can see and taste the effort that has gone in to presenting such a beautiful meal. Did not think I could manage a dessert but when you see the menu you cannot resist. Everything is made on the premises and the Profiteroles were plump and light and filled with divine vanilla cream. The rhubarb crumble and custard was perfection. Well done to al...

Booked a table for 3pm for Sunday lunch, they were obviously very busy. We arrived and stood around while staff rushed past us yet no one made eye contact. A couple at a table nearby said they’d been there for an hour but as yet had not ordered their meal. Eventually we were told that our table was not ready so we just had to stand around and wait! Once we were seated we ordered quite quickly but it was 4pm when the food arrived. There was nothing wrong with the meal, it was very tasty although it could have been hotter. Some of us had beef, whilst others had lamb or Turkey and they were asked if they’d like a Yorkshire pudding, which they did. The biggest surprise was yet to come, on the bi...

"And lucky old us wow! This was a great surprise, we had no idea we were coming into something so unusual and so good. The garden space is very big and on the lawn, amongst the flowers, herbs and vegetable beds sit tables and chairs, mainly made of roughly hewn wood, plus tenty sheddy structures with heaters, teepee looking things and probably other structures I didn't take in.We were there when it was dark and there were strings of lights throughout the garden and it was all stunning and rather difficult to take in!The service was occasionally scatty but always well meaning and pleasant and mostly very professional and rightly proud of what they do, the place and the food they serve. The food! We were so thrilled with the food after some not very good experiences locally and, as others have said, we wished we'd found it earlier and been able to book another night.I had the pork belly which must have been cooking for hours, apart from the rind (not exactly crackling but still crispy and wonderful) I could cut the meat with my fork love to know how to achieve it. No taste had been lost in the cooking process and the fat was there but was kind of crumbly so it was gorgeous. And it came with great slices of home pickled carrot and fennel which was just delicious with a hint of sweetness and a hint of spice. And a puree which I believe was cauliflower. And don't forget the delicious little black pudding rissole that comes with it.As you can see, I could go on and on! My partner loved his succulent lamb, which was served with the same vegetables. Oh, and we had side dishes of seasonal greens and roasted beetroot and goats cheese these were also yummy and well flavoured, side dish didn't mean unimportant.Sadly, we didn't have dessert, what can I say, bet they're ace. This is far too long, do visit if you can it's a real treat with great cooking and lovely people."
