"Haven’t been in a while due to Covid, but found that, if anything, the food is even better than we remembered! The salmon quiche was superb with a wonderful flaky crust, while hubby’s pulled BBQ pork sandwich was wolfed down before I could grab a taste he said it was delicious. Both came with lovely crispy skinny fries, salad and slaw. Had to have dessert too because they looked amazing, and they didn’t disappoint! Nice coffee too. Not to mention that the owner is friendly and a great hostess. Has got to be the best place for lunch and dessert in Bourne!"

Have been here a number of times now and the service, together with the food, is exceptional. Simon is an amazing chef who can make anything from the best omelette to any kind of cake you care to name. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend .

It’s always a treat to have lunch at this place. Staff are friendly and always service with a smile. Today I went for the daily special “Greek butter bean stew” served with daily fresh baked garlic bread. Despite I’m not a vegan type I really enjoyed this dish. Visualizza piatti

Popped in for a quick stop while in Bourne and found this on tripadvisor. Warm welcome, old school cafe interior with some nice wall decor. Lovely smooth warming coffee was quickly served with a luscious brownie which I could have eaten multiple times over. Would return when back in town.

Quite awful. This is not quite a high end cafe pretending to be a bistro, selling poor quality food and higher than necessary prices. The food was not particularly well cooked and put on a plate rather than presented. Compared to other options around the town this (in my opinion) is perhaps best avoided despite what other reviews say.

Mum and I visiting Bourne for the afternoon and called in for lunch. We were extremely impressed! Covid protocols clear and well followed. Coffee and tea delivered quickly with (my favourite biscoff biscuits followed by the most delicious quiche I think I've ever had. Rich, buttery and full of tasty filling. Service was impeccable too. Can't wait to visit again to try one of the awesome looking sausage rolls! : Visualizza piatti

This spot is a Hidden Gem in the middle of the Angel Precinct. I came in for Lunch with a group of friends this week and I had the Falafel special which was delicious! My friends had a Bacon, Brie and Cranberry panini and a Jacket Potato cheese and beans. All food homemade, flavourful and served beautifully. The ladies working were super polite and welcoming. We all left very happy and will definitely be back! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! Thank you Wild Heart Café :

Whilst having a ramble around Bourne we happened across this coffee shop. It looked very appealing from the outside so we thought we'd pop in for coffee and a quick bite. Firstly, it was really cold. Too cold to take your coat off. We ordered coffees but just couldn't bring ourselves to pay £5.50 for a croissant. That's just ridiculous. No wonder the couple at the next table were sharing one!! Toast was the same price. The coffee was fine and the service was pleasant but we won't be returning.

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
