Best turkey dish I've had, excellent food and great service, not a tourist restaurant, its a neighborhood restaurant away from where most tourist go, but its..

we went to dinner after we had read the guide and all the good reviews on tripadvisor. but the service wasn't kind at all, they looked like they didn't like their job. eating was very average. the salat was an uninspired baptism of lola pink and a little cheap feta. it felt more like a tourist trap.

we have literally stumbled into this restaurant after we had visited the heilingenberg (heiliger berg). inconspicuous outer (we were not sure whether they were open at all) but lively interior. great food - excellent service - very reasonable prices. seems to be a local favorite (which I usually consider as a good sign). This is an old restaurant with a great deal of history. The have nice seating in a beer garden in the back that has retractable roof in case it rains. The setting was nice but both my wife's pepper pork steak and my rahm schnitzel...were very tough. It also took three tries to get our check even though we were with a couple that spoke German.

Went Sunday for dinner, food very tasty, worth the couple extra minutes wait time or the extra money , expect persons with drinks and tip in dollars. Very friendly staff, just happened they were servers down and the two servers were quite...overstretched but nevertheless friendly. Why not stars, would have had some seasonal mushrooms but those only came as a full dish not possible as appetizer or side. As long as this is not a central location, it is not easy to come here, but it is worth it. they will not see much tourist here, it is a place for locals. it has an incredibly quiet terrace and a very typical interior? .the service is not the fastest, but with no problem.The menu can be quite confusing as it is only in German and even if they ask in English for a translation, it is difficult to get a complete description of all the ingredients, but simply ask what the waiter recommends. we tried a few carving and roasted pork, big teller with sweet, pommes and delicious meat.

We found this place based on a blog recommendation, and I'm so glad we did! It's in a neighborhood north of Heidelberg about minutes by tram and a short walk. It was definitely a place tourists would NOT stumble upon. We sat outside in...the garden that had a canopy of grapevines. With sat with some locals who were very friendly. Our server, Niels, spoke English and was just wonderful! Very accommodating and patient. I order the Rahmgeschnetzeltes. It was a veal dish in a cream mushroom sauce, served with spatzle egg noodles, carrots, and salad. Delicious and the price was good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Yet again we enjoyed a fantastic meal which reinforced why we come here every time we visit family. The chef never fails to disappoint. On a fine night, you can sit out and eat al fresco and on a chillier evening you can sit in...and drink in the friendly atmosphere and excellent service. Again I had the pork steak with brat kartoffel and salad. The salad dressing is to die for and ties the whole dish together. Other family members had the pork medallions and asparagus. Everything was beautifully cooked and well presented. Surroundings are quaint and old fashioned, adding to the experience.
