"Brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek and Thor Andersen founded sticks n Sushi over 18 years ago. With a menu consisting of fresh sushi and grilled yakitori sticks, Sticks n Sushi has been well received in Denmark, where there is 10 restaurants. Now with their eyes set on London, Covent Garden and Wimbledon were the first locations and they have recently opened in Greenwich with one in Canary Wharf on the way. As I live in Greenwich, it seemed only fair for me to get my chopsticks skills on and try the place out. You can order your sushi and sticks as separate dishes or choose from one of the 14 set menus. We chose the Monte Carlos option, which is a large menu and you definitely won’t be leaving hungry. Edamame beans tossed in soy, ginger and garlic were a welcome starting dish and a nice difference to the normal beans with rock salt. Crunchy ebi bites with chilli and miso aioli were absolutely delicious. Beautiful looking beef tataki with smoked cheese, almonds chives and yuzu-kosho made for intense and delightful mouthful. Ebi panko roll topped with avocado and spicy sauce with the crispy tempura prawn was one of my favourites of the meal. The shake aioli roll consisting of peas, avocado, cucumber, miso-aioli topped with seared salmon and trout roe was a pretty bite-size piece of food, tasting as good as it looked. Seared salmon, yellow tail and tuna nigiri along with salmon, tuna and sea bass sashimi were all extremely fresh and had a better tasting quality to them compared to other sushi places I’ve dined at. The yakitori sticks included asparagus wrapped in bacon, black cod marinated with miso and lamb chops with miso herb butter. The best out of these was the black cod, delicate pieces of fish with saltiness added through miso. The lamb tasted nice, but was a little bit chewy. The asparagus was fresh and cooked well, but unfortunately I couldn’t get any flavour from the bacon. Dessert was a box of four petite ones called ‘dark’. The first was a black sesame ice cream, which I wasn’t overly keen on, but that is just my preference. The orange bergamot orange crème brulee was silky with a good caramelised top. Marcel chocolate cake with crystallised white chocolate was a tasty spoonful, and reminded me a bit of thick mousse or even truffle. My favourite of the four was the dark fondant with chocolate caramel and hazelnut brittle. If you like a gooey, sweet and rich dessert then this is for you. The service received was good and our waiter was knowledgeable of the wine. When our set menu was served the waiter also went through each item listing what each was and what they consisted of. Every now and then the staff randomly shout out Japanese words/phrases, so if you’re a little jumpy, beware…. But, hey, at least you’ll have a heart attack scoffing some good sushi."

Delicious food. Great service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. You don’t have to only like sushi to eat here. There are a lot of meat ‘sticks’ which are yummy!

The split of Japan and Denmark is core to the entire experience at Stick 'n ' Sushi. Sticks 'n ' Sushi is a Japanese restaurant that comes from Copenhagen and honours both nations in everything it does.

Interesting and extensive menu, traditional and fusion sushi and yakitori. Have the Hell's Kitchen roll and the miso cod sushi. If you are there for lunch sit at the back under the skylight. Lovely Scandinavian design.

Great place, good service. This was not really planned Valentines/3rd Anniversary lunch, it was just on the way after a fery on Thems river. We were impressed with the excellent taste of all foods we ordered. There were much more options we wanted to try, but our stomachs have limits. So that means we are coming back.

elaborate but tasty and seemingly the only reliable choice of Japanese cuisine in greenwich city at the moment! something for everyone. I usually order the tuna sashimi and not disappointed by freshness of the plate. good selection of sushi both raw and not raw. but my friend had the salmon carpaccio last time and didn't feel too good tomorrow after so they look if they didn't like a strong one! their bbq sticks selection have me in hallo! highly recommend the chicken balls aka huhn yakitori and the lamb hacks! I usually like bark, but I wasn't so impressed. 2 dings they should try for desserts: chocolate fondant and cream brûlée. their set menus are good and if they don't like a certain thi...

New little Japanese place I never knew existed until one fortunate day. I went to sticks n sushi for a birthday dinner, the decor is a bit typical of a Japanese restaurant Brown wooden tables and you sit around different people). But it had lil modern notes. Deciding what to eat was a bit of a process as there was so much to choose from. You can choose from the set menu or build your own plate choosing different meats on stick. I opted for the big chicken and little duck, this came with rice and edamame beans. Presentation was ok, on a wooden board, it looked small but once i started eating i quickly realized how wrong and full I was. The chicken and duck was tasty with the dipping sauce but...

what a great little supplement to the greenwich food scene. Actually, it is not so little, but it is really great, especially considering how central it is to the tourist scene in greenwich. it's expensive, don't get me wrong. if they are planning to come here, they make it for a Friday night, for a party, for a start. Do not do what we have done, what appeared on a Monday night, just because we happen to have no food in the refrigerator, the kind of feeling just do not do it just justice. the place has a funky and hip feel about it. also the menus look cool and stylish. they have a great drink choice also for the non-drinker among us and know that I had a naughty week of eating ahead, I wen...
