Fabulous night with great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, fabulous price. Would recommend and definitely go back again!

Once again, the staff at this restaurant were outstanding, especially Joan. The food was amazing and they couldn't do enough for us.

Fabulous evening with friend for drink/meal. I had the steak ale pie with chips gravy, my friend had lamb shank with mash. Both meals were lovely but the pie was amazing! Good service too.

Warm welcome, great food with lots to choose from, and Anna in particular gave fantastic customer service. We had a variety of starters…highly recommend the chicken strips and squid dishes. Will definitely return when we visit the area again!

Last week charged £7.48 for a white coffee and Pint of Ale. Today 7 Jan 2024 charged £8.23 for the same with the following problem. My pint was sent back asap after 1 snip as you could see it was off. The barman poured me another Ale and said 'I will not charge you for this one '. How kind. 20 seconds later the barrel was changed as they had served me the dregs. My wife 's plain white coffee was £3.05 which included 75 pence for a very small jug 50/60 ml) of milk. I am bewildered by what has transpired. Last summer, my friends and I had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant. However, during today's visit, the food was absolutely terrible. The menu that was presented seemed like some sort of bizarre experiment. To avoid causing any embarrassment to my companions, I opted for the 'Fish and Chips', which turned out to be a regrettable choice. The meal was a disaster - the fish was the only decent part, while the chips were undercooked and inedible. The dish was served with a measly portion of mushy peas. I do not appreciate having my stomach subjected to such a horrible meal, and as a result, I have no intention of returning to this establishment.

Lovely cosy pub. We ordered our drinks at the bar and then we were showed to our table. The waitress came to our table around 10 minutes later and took our order. We waited around 40 minutes before I asked about our meal. I went up to the bar and enquired about the wait. I then went back to my table. The bar person came to the table and explained and apologised and told us that as soon as the chef finishes the big table our meals would come out and there was only one chef on today. Also to apologise for the wait we could have a drink on the house. This was a nice touch and of course we accepted! 10 minutes later our meal came. Very tasty meal. We went to the Royal Oak to celebrate my partner's birthday and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. When we arrived, there was no one at the bar. After waiting for a short while, a staff member finally noticed us and escorted us to our table. However, he was not very welcoming or helpful. We had to ask to place our order, and when I inquired about a dish on the menu, he had little knowledge of it. Later, he returned to inform us that the bravas sauce for my daughter's dish was not available. When I asked for alternatives, he listed two other sauces and simply said "and some others!!", showing a lack of knowledge about the menu. The meals we received were underwhelming, especial...
