Lovely family meal with fantastic, attentive service by Alec. Food was delicious and served quickly, with a good range on the festive menu. Will be back!

Excellent service from Caitlyn. She handled a table of 14 with a calm nature, everything perfect. Such a lovely lady. Table was nice although had to sit separate from our children. Food was nice. Bar service prompt. Caitlyn made it super special.

Lovely setting but service was shocking, and please do not order the mulled wine it was disgusting food was lovely when it arrived but had to ask for our drinks 3 times and had to ask for a menu after sitting at our table for 10 mins shame such a lovely venue was let down by such bad service. Just been tonight Wednesday stood at bar for 5 mins no service no acknowledgment 2 stood by door drinking coke one on bar saw us then proceeded to make coffee no I will be with you nothing 4 staff completey walk past hey ho you lose another 2 customers seriously you need to train your staff last time we come here shocking shocking

This is the 6th year we have visited The Church Mouse with friends for a Christmas lunch and it was lovely again. We had 2 courses from the festive menu and the food was delicious 3 of us had the turkey dinner and 1 had the pork belly, we ordered sides as well and everything was spot on, we then ordered desserts and could hardly move. We had Matthew looking after us and he was lovely, very attentive and polite, he is a credit to the team and how he is there when we go again next year.

We visit here quite often and been for Sunday lunch at Christmas time for as long as I can remember. We booked the festive menu and paid £5 deposit each. However, on arrival we were given the normal menu and the table was bare. Not even a cracker in sight. We asked for crackers and 5 arrived and were just dropped on the table. Not festive at all. We were happy with the food and the service. Would I book again for Sunday lunch, yes. But probably not at Christmas time. I went for lunch on New Year's Eve at a clean, warm, and inviting pub. However, I have to give it a 1-star rating due to the disappointing food. I had to send back the festive vegetarian loaf because it was inedible. It arrived covered in tomato sauce and topped with salad, looking like a mess and tasting even worse. The roast potatoes were also tasteless and lacked crunch. The scotch egg, tart, and mini Yorkshires were okay. We requested for all the food to come out together, but the nibbles came out at least 30 minutes before the rest. It was a letdown. Additionally, playing news on repeat on the TVs in the bar is not enjoyable. Who wants to watch that while enjoying a pint? Unfortunately,...

Okay so we arrived late, tables was free which was a bonus. The service was slick, it was 1704 I wanted the fishfinger ssndwhich without the head side of fries and a side salad to be told the sandwiches finished at 5pm waitress asked the manger if she could he said no. So I had the fries and side salad as all I wanted to do was sleep after a 7 hour journey. My partner ordered a burger without any cheese sauce. And an additional triple cooked fries, a large Pepsi and a cider. £35.00 ! We demolished it it was so hot as sat besides the fire yet didn’t want to be a pain as they looked busy with Christmas party’s. We eaten stood up and asked to pay the bill at the bar. I would have given 5* for the pub, as it lovely. But the service we received was poor. Stayed for 1 night in the travel lodge next door . Decided to have dinner early at 5pm. The pub wasn’t busy when we were seated, shown to a table opposite the fire, lovely and cosy. Didn’t wait too long for a waiter to come with menus. We were asked if anyone has an allergies, I told waiter I do, he presented me with a tablet and said don’t bother reading it that’s their disclaimer! … umm I think I need to read what’s in what I’m planning to eat?!
