"I visited this pub for the first time today. My friend and I met with our sons for a catch up. Initially the staff were very accommodating and waited for my friend's son to bottle feed before bringing our food. My son is 19 months...old and can be a very messy eater, which has never been a problem at any other establishment. Today he was a bit under the weather and wasn't eating,so made a big mess on the floor. The owner made a comment about bringing out a dust pan, when she cleared plates, to which I said yes okay. We had only just finished our meal and were contemplating a pudding when the bill was put on our table and we were told we had to go. The owner had to shut up due to unforseen circumstances, which is fair and can't be helped. We were disappointed as we were having a nice time and wanted to stay longer. We rushed to pay our bill as we were the last people there and I apologised for the mess my son had left, I had no opportunity to clean up as we had to leave suddenly. The owner started to say she was disgusted in the mess and became very rude. She said that I was basically a bad mother for allowing such a mess to occur. I stated that I would have cleaned up if we had had more time. She continued to be rude and said she was taking a photo incase I leave bad feedback. I told her ,admittedly very cross now, to bring out the hoover then and I would sort it. This was ignored and she just continued to say I should have cleaned up. I was shocked and appalled. We all know toddlers are messy and yes my son is the worst, but surely it is not acceptable to talk to a paying customer in such a manner. If I had known we were going to have to leave early I would have made a start on cleaning up, again something I have never had to do anywhere else, despite offering."

I made a lunch reservation today. I have dined at this restaurant several times in the past, but today I decided to try the Gamon and pineapple dish, which was new to me. The service was excellent, the lunch was delicious, and overall we felt very welcomed!

My first time dining at the Greyhound was a pleasant experience. The cozy country pub had a diverse menu and the service was friendly. The food was delicious and served hot and fresh. The generous portions left us all feeling satisfied and content. We will definitely be returning in the future.

I brought my family here on a Saturday night to celebrate a family holiday. all the workers were very pleasant and polite, especially the young waitress who served us (I think she was called catie) eating was definitely up to the standard they would expect from a country pub. all in all a nice eating with the family, we will come back soon.

Came upon this pub trawling trip advisor for a pub with good reviews for lunch whilst waiting for holiday accommodation to be available. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Food good pub grub large portions and amazing chips. Staff took time to explain nearest local food...shops. Only complaint no heating and this was the main reason we did not return for Sunday lunch which I’m sure would have been home cooked and fab.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
