"I've known this hotel/restaurant for over 25 years, in fact since I moved to this area, and have enjoyed many celebratory meals here. Sadly my work schedule seldom allows me to stop off in Calahonda to eat, but a visit by family from the UK provided the excuse to revisit El Ancla, and we weren't disappointed. Our various tastes, from traditionally English to typically Spanish, were all catered for, with a bit of Italian thrown in, and we all ate well too well in fact as most of us we were defeated by the large servings. We ate on the hotel's all weather terrace, with its lively international ambience, but there are other options too from quick pizzas to formal restaurant. The only slight negative was the service got slower as the meal progressed, but that was entirely due to it being a very busy lunchtime service there was hardly a vacant seat, let alone table. I will certainly return."

This place used to be very good, but in my recent visit, we were disappointed. The food and service was not great, the staff didn’t speak English.

That's great right! In perfect place. Good views. easy to get by car and bus. simple marine decoration. the delicious food, all well done and presented. the attentive and friendly waiter.

We got a lot of this restaurant. We ordered the fish and seafood grill and it was very rich. very friendly waiters too. I recommend this site to other people who want to eat good fish and seafood

good restaurant with very good attention. you can order rice to collect. the quantity and quality of rice is very good. I'd come back there without a doubt, it's one of the best restaurants in your area.

the place well, good food and good service. Perhaps the price is a peel climbed as a tourist area, something that is not so much because the area is not that it is the boulevard rather seems to be half the hand of God by the city council.

Third time eating at El ancla over last 15 years and was a bit disappointed. Had the parrillada argentina and tomato salad with cantabrian anchovies as that’s what I had last time I was here (4 years ago) and quality has dropped. Parrillada was dry and overcooked and the cuts used were fatty and cheap. The salad was ok but only about 4 anchovy fillets on a huge salad and the tomatoes were virtually tasteless. The Rioja was nice.....
