"my wife has booked for both of us lunch to celebrate my birthday in a restaurant where I wanted to go for a while. it fulfilled all my expectations. the service was always attentive. we had a good table and on the way to him were taken our dumbbells and at the same time we were asked if we wanted to water on the table. we were given time or studying the menu and asked if we need any drinks. these came within minutes and we were asked if we were willing to order. we ordered from the a la carte menu and young was eating well. the starters were a good size and tasty, a lot of choice for the net and I must say the Indonesian fish curry was for to die. large selection on the wine menu and not silly prices, as we all know that some restaurants put a considerable brand on their weeping. a total of an excellent experience all around well made the personal for my birthday dinners very unforgettable."

My second recent visit and each time excellent customer service and the Sea Bass meal 2 of us had was fantastic. Simply cooked but so delicious. Great choices of desserts including the Winchester pudding and cherry bakewell tart excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant as a special treat. Thanks so much to attentive staff who made our visit special and not rushed.

Rick Stein is not my favourite TV chef, but the food at his Winchester restaurant is excellent. We ate there for Dinner yesterday and lunch today, and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. Today's cod and chips was delicious, the cod was fresh and perfectly cooked, and went down well with a bottle of Chalky's Bite (a Belgium styled beer brewed by Sharps in Cornwall). Service was excellent.
