"A totally superb roast lunch in an atmospheric 11th century inn. Clearly a very popular spot for lunch on a Sunday, so don't expect to walk in without a reservation and find a table. We left at 3.30; our table was ready for waiting customers very shortly after and Sunday lunch was still being served. The carnivores in our group said that the pork crackling was amazing, the vegetarians loved the nut roast. All the vegetables were excellent, especially the cauliflower cheese and (not a common sight the roasted beetroot. We sampled three of the six or more possible desserts, all scored very highly. Mine was a most enjoyable apple and pear crumble with creme anglaise (custard? . We were happy to forgive fairly slow service, first of all because we didn't want to rush, secondly, because there was a party of 30 people being looked after at the other end of the inn and, thirdly, because the staff were really lovely even though they were clearly extremely busy. We shall definitely be returning; this lunch was easily one of the top three best we have experienced over many years."

This traditional pub serves delicious food and boasts a great selection of drinks. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The streets leading to the pub are a bit narrow, but the journey is definitely worth it!

Our meal was nice, but only Rare roast beef or pork as the roast meat option was a bit poor, only a burger made with pork on offer so ended up with nutroast as my option. My wife and I celebrated our 55th anniversary with lunch at this restaurant. The meal was outstanding, and the staff was friendly and attentive. For dessert, we enjoyed the bread and butter pudding with saffron and butter ice cream, which was also fantastic. We loved everything about our experience and will definitely return next time we're in the area.

This is a fantastic pub with high-quality food, an excellent selection of drinks, and attentive service. I traveled from Exeter to celebrate my son's 18th birthday after receiving a recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The spacious parking area and beautiful building were great bonuses. The food was delicious, and Tom, our server, was extremely helpful. They have an excellent range of craft beers and apple wines. I would definitely recommend this place!
