"What an absolute delight if a place. Service was outstanding. We came unexpected, was really busy. We know next time to book to secure a place. However a space was found for 5 of us. Food included 3 children’s meals which went down a treat. Southern fried chicken burger and the cheese and onion pie was the adult choices. Both plates were cleared, and by gosh I was so full. Special food was the three times cooked chips, you’d visit many many places before you got as good as they were. Last but not least the onion rings… beautifully fresh with bubbly batter. So full didn’t have room for dessert but there was plenty of choice to be had. Children had brownie and an ice cream which I think looking at the cleared plates was enjoyed by all. Would certainly recommend and we are going to try something else as the menu contains lots of choices. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon."

I wanted to eat something, was asked if we had booked, but we didn't. because there were only two of us, they immediately found us a table. eating was exceptional and nicely expensive. will definitely be back.

the best I had for years! the food was excellent and much, and they can taste the good quality. there is a good selection of drinks, among them some very good, less known ales. the staff gave excellent service as well as friendly and warm! what a great experience I will definitely come back!

absolutely delicious valentine dinner ...... rindfleisch wellington was nicely cooked and accompanied by perfectly prepared seasonal vegetables and a side served by rich red wine sauce. if you want to remember an evening in a comfortable but stylish country pub, you can't do better than this

amazing eating, excellent service and great view. eating was nice and hot served. great aromas and tastes would make this place very resurrected. the pet is also friendly. the local dinners were also friendly and chatting. nice local. beautiful atmosphere. a bit expensive (extra) but worth the money. hopefully this helps. thanks. basic. appropriate. extra. inflated.

I took my mum, dad and partner here for father's day lunch. The service and food were excellent. I had steak pie chips peas and gravy, which was outstanding. The parents had fish and chips and my partner had cheese pie and chips. I wholeheartedly would recommend going here for high-quality hearty pub food. Thankyou for making father's day a memorable occassion for us.

Mother's Day meal with the family. Plenty of parking on site and we were shown immediately to our table despite the pub being very busy. Prompt service with drinks and menus. Took some time for the meals to be served however this was not unexpected owing to how busy the pub was and it was not unpleasantly long. The food was hot, well cooked and large portions. Condiments were supplied quickly when asked for. Responsive when asking for the bill. Great dining experience in a lovely venue. Recommend the 3 meat Sunday roast!

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Friendly , polite and very helpful. Great atmosphere. Visited with friends for lunch exactly 11 of us on Tuesday afternoon. Service that we have received was top class and all the staff were on point and very professional especially Hannah. You did an amazing job. Food was delicious and big shout out to chef for getting our food out at the same time. Your Peppered Steak Pie is one of the best one I ever had. We all had an amazing time. Outstanding service definitely will be coming back. Thank you all.

We’ve been visiting the Boars Head for a fair few years now and have never really had a bad visit. That still stands now with my birthday visit in January being consistent with their beautiful cheese pie being a favourite. It’s never changed and remains so very tasty. My latest visit on Monday had me ordering the also (normally) consistently perfect fish and chips. My previous reviews have held up the Boars Head fish and chips as being the best for quite some miles due to the perfectly seasoned batter that isn’t too thickly applied. Unfortunately the recipe was changed on this visit (I hope it was just a blip) with a thick batter that was slightly bitter. I removed it and just ate the lovely...
