"We hadn't visited this restaurant in a couple of years and had good memories of it being a special place (we had brought guests here as it was at the top of our list of local restaurants), but our recent experience this week was disappointing. The staff member who greeted us at the door seemed disinterested in being at work, showing no signs of friendliness or engaging in any conversation throughout the evening, including when we paid the bill. First impressions are important. Unfortunately, the food was also lacking. Although the menu descriptions were intriguing with a variety of options, none of our appetizers or main dishes stood out - where were the promised flavors? Bruschetta without garlic or basil? Overall, the food was just "okay" but not worth the price. It seemed like cheap ingredients were used and corners were cut to save money. The restaurant still has a nice ambiance and I'm sure it's lively on weekends, but this historic place deserves better. We will be exploring other dining options in the future. It's a shame, as this restaurant has the potential to be truly special."

Lunch was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The service, however, could use improvement. The price per person was between £50-60.

This restaurant is almost always packed, but it's for good reason. The tables are perfectly spaced, the prices reasonable, the menu diverse, the hot drinks delicious, the service top-notch, and the location ideal. The Italian food is consistently tasty.

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable. The only drawback was that it was a bit cold inside, as most customers kept their coats on. However, we would still definitely return. Was a wonderful experience. Really wish I ordered the pizza over the lasagna but everything tasted great. I got the dough balls lasagna and had a chance to have a few slices of their margarita pizza. If given a shot, I'm trying a pepperoni pizza next time. Service was professional, friendly, and present. Loved the vibe I was getting from the environment. If you can, stop here and give it a try! Had xmas diner there this year and was really disappointed with the food and service for the price we had to pay. £95 a head for the adults, we expected a lot more. Wasnt even as nice as their normal sunday lunch. Didnt get offered the coffees we chose at the end, the staff just seemed like they wanted us finished so they could finish. And they added on a £55 service charge which they realy didn't deserve. I get its xmas so they have to make it worth their while but they really could have it made more effort to engage with the customers and create more of an atmosphere.
